Lilith's words hung in the air like a blade. The oppressive silence returned, only this time it was broken by faint whispers.
A few demons nodded in agreement, their faces grim with understanding. Others scoffed under their breath, clearly displeased with the implication of setting aside their hatred for their mortal enemies.
And some, frustrated by their inability to speak with such clarity, fidgeted with envy—especially a few generals who had hoped to impress Amael.
Amael observed the reactions with detached amusement, his expression unreadable. When the murmurs grew louder, he raised his hand slightly, and the room fell silent once more.
"You're right," he said after a moment, his voice calm yet carrying an edge that commanded attention. "But… not really."
