After washing the dishes mom left, not before saying, "You kids go an sleep. You have to go to school tomorrow.. " Nancy giggled at this. Although she was two years older than me, it didn't change the fact that she acted like a child many times. Yep, you heard it right. Nancy in this world was twelve years old. I did found it weird, but I had no problem with her being twelve. My relation with her was golden. Both of us enjoyed each other's company. She was really awkward around me sometimes, being a reincarnated person I could notice this easily. But I never forced her to talk about it.
She was for some reasons always angry with Mike. And to keep them together, I had to work hard. Although they fought many times, it wasn't to the point that affect their relationship to the level like in the series. Just some bickering here and there.
Anyways, back to the topic. The hardest part that I had faced was building the security encryption for the network. There wasn't anything released here during this timeline, that could encrypt the network. Yes, there were some. But they were mostly used by Government organization, Business organization, and military. And I couldn't just make the computer without encryption because this place was monitored a lot already. And this monitoring would increase a lot, once the plot unfolds.
By the time, my suspension was over, and I continued going to school, I had already worked on most of the parts of the computer. I couldn't exactly make the computer as I had planned it in my mind. Since that would require a lot of things. Although I do have knowledge about most of them,. but I don't have knowledge about all of them. So the only computer I could make was the version during this timeline. Though I was able to increase the processing power of the computer, bu it's appearance remained the same, bulky.
Dante and Troy did avoid me all the time, but they never left the chance to glare at me from time to time. I did find it weird at first, since I had just punched them, nothing too serious. But then I realised something. They were children, and they would always hold a grudge against me. But I chose to ignore them, since I had big plans for the future.
The next day was holiday, so the guys all made a plan to play DnD board game, that Will had designed at the latest. I remembered this scene. It was obviously from the plot, because they said about several things that rang a bell.
After school, we returned home. And during evening, the guys came to our house. They greeted mom and directly came to basement where Mike was waiting for them. I did usually play with them, but today I won't. The reason was quite simple. I had to do something. I know that the plot wouldn't change much and I couldn't change it very much. Because the more plot I change, the more irregularities would be introduced in the future. And that's something that I hate. Because I would lose the thing that values the most, the plot. So I decided to work on the computer. Since it had been a long time hard work of mine.
Yep, this happened after I had made the computer.
The guys did find it weird that I wasn't playing with them, but they simply shrugged and continued playing their game. Meanwhile I was working on the computer in my room. For the time being, I had kept the invention of my computer a secret from everyone. Even Mike who usually comes to my room, doesn't know that I have created a computer by myself.
I started by making a simple assistant AI. It was more like a smart program. It would take me a lot of time to make an AI, since I had no knowledge about them. While I was creating the AI, I realised something. The sources of this time period wasn't enough to make an AI at all. So here I was stuck with an assistant program, that may or may not be able to do the things I had planned it for.
I named the assistant Kara. Yep, in the memory of the OG Supergirl of DC. She was my favourite for obvious reasons, ahem. Kara could take voice input, understand it, but his reply would always be in text format. That was something I had to work on.
Soon I heard Karen's voice. She was telling the guys who were still at the basement to stop playing, since it was school day tomorrow and their parents would be worried since it was already late. Unlike the OG series, Karen asked the guys, if they want her to drop them at their homes. But they refused and it was Lucas, who said, "No need to worry Mrs.Wheeler. We can go alone. We aren't young anymore. " To this Karen chuckled and said, "Okay. "
The friends all said goodbye to each other. They went on their own ways. Meanwhile with Will...
The sun had just set, casting a red-orange glow over the trees as Will pedaled his bike down the quiet road. He had just left his friend Mike's house after an intense game of Dungeons & Dragons, and was looking forward to a warm meal and a good night's sleep.
Suddenly, he heard a rustling in the bushes. He slowed down, his heart racing as he tried to see what was making the noise. Then, out of the darkness, a shadowy figure leapt towards him.
Will tried to pedal faster, but his bike wobbled and he lost his balance. He fell hard onto the pavement, his head spinning. The figure loomed over him, and he could see its glowing eyes and sharp teeth.
Panic surged through Will as he realized he was in danger. He tried to scramble to his feet, but the figure was too fast. It reached out and grabbed him with long, bony fingers, dragging him into the darkness.
Will screamed, but his voice was drowned out by the monster's howls. He tried to fight back, but his limbs felt weak and useless. As the monster dragged him away, he caught a glimpse of its twisted, inhuman face, and he knew he was in for a long and terrifying ordeal.
But somehow he was able to escape. He still had no idea how he escaped. Was it because the monster had released him to enjoy catching the prey. He had no time to think of that, since he heard the howls again. He got up and ran towards his house. But when he reached there, be realised there was no one. He still heard those howls. He tried calling 911, but nothing could be done. Since all he heard was static.
He went to the old shed, which was more like a garage for them, where the Byers usually kept the instruments to repair things. And luckily Will found a rifle there. He somehow loaded them in hurry. A shadow fell over him. But before he could do anything, for some reasons he was frozen in fright and then he disappeared with the shadow that had fell on him.
