Chapter 2 - The plan to move

"So, what's your plan?"

Lydia, the only daughter of the Cameron's', a prominent noble family, the elite of all elites, asked while sipping her iced tea.

Sitting on the balcony of their favorite restaurant, the two ladies were oblivious of the attention from the crowd.

Lydia's beauty is like a dancing flame, gorgeous but dangerous, meanwhile, Zaylene were of that from winter, you can look and admire but never touch as it would freeze you till death.

"What plan? I don't have any and besides, I only have a month before the graduation. I don't have time to scheme against my sister, Maddie....I'm too lazy for that."

Zaylene lazily leaned back on her chair as her fine strands of hair smoothly fluttered behind her, glistening as it swayed.

'Ahhhh...beautiful...'

The sight of Zaylene lazing around while stirring her tea made her look like an ice princess. The crowd couldn't help to admire the two and be awed by their beauty.

Lydia laughed at her friend. She knows Zaylene like the back of hand. She might look like a type of person that loved to laze around but behind those facade is a deadly persona that no mankind would dare to offend.

Lydia knows that Zaylene could leave the Norton's without any problem but because of her affection, she decided to stay.

"So...after the graduation...what happens afterwards?"

Zaylene smiled before looking at the busy street and the birds singing on the trees. Suddenly, a small bird flew towards her as she leaned on the table with her elbows. The small bird rested on her long fingers while snuggling to her cheeks.

"Hmm...maybe I'll....disappear?"

"Don't kid around, Zay!"

Zaylene chuckled before looking at her best friend.

"Relax. I still don't know what I'm gonna do but, for sure, I will be out after a month."

"If-If you disappear...can you take me with you?"

Zaylene glanced at Lydia as the latter had a sad face and eyes about to cry. Reaching her hand, her fingers wiped the tears at the corner and patted her head as consolation before whispering that only both of them knew.

"Sorry, Di, but you have a family while I don't and I know you're going to say that you and your family considered me as one but there's only gonna be an exception to a certain thing. I don't know where I'm gonna be but I'll promise that you will be able to reach me anytime and anywhere."

"But--"

"Not buts."

"...fine."

The crowd watched the two beauties interact and could only lament on how they wished to be their partner, mainly men, while the women were busy on fantasizing the both of them and started squealing on the inside.

And exactly one month passed.

Zaylene stood on her room while glancing around, etching on her memory each and every single moment she could remember. The door creaked open as Lydia came in and watched her friend standing alone in the middle of the huge bedroom.

Today is the last day of her stay in the Norton's before going somewhere quietly that even Lydia doesn't know. She felt bad for Aunt Lisa as it would be this day that they would bring Maddie to the Norton's Mansion, introducing her to the rest of the family.

Lydia knew that they wanted Zaylene to come with them but because of her graduation, they couldn't force her. Her friend promised them that she would be fine and urged them to go on their way, lest they would be stuck on the traffic.

"Zay..."

Lydia whispered as she saw Zaylene swinging a backpack on her shoulder.

"Come here."

Lydia immediately hugged her as she would miss her best friend. Throughout childhood, Zaylene had always protected Lydia and her twin brother whose older by an hour, Samuel, from bullies and made sure that they were happy and made sure that they would be able to fight back, be it verbal or physical. She didn't think it was odd because of their age gap.

Lydia was eight years old when her brother, five years older, left to study abroad as he was the heir. Pierson also went abroad but it was a few months after Lydia's brother left. Samuel, Lydia's twin started to rely and be dependent on Zaylene as an older sister.

"Make sure to call me if someone is bothering you, all right?"

"Hmm...."

"Doesn't matter if it's small or big, I will be there to listen to you and Sammy."

"Hmm...."

The two remained in that position as Samuel arrived.

"...sis."

Zaylene smiled before motioning to come forward. Samuel felt he was about to cry and quickly hug her.

"Now, I won't be dead--"

"Don't say that!"

The twins immediately interrupted as they glared at her with their pitiful expression. Zaylene could only sigh and smile while wiping their tears.

"OkLay, I won't... I'm still reachable from the two of you so there's no need to cry. Just remember what I told you."

"What if.... we'll miss you, can we call you?"

"Of course."

"Boss."

Zaylene look up and saw her subordinate, Liam, standing on the open door.

"Call me anytime, anywhere if you missed me. Now, I must go before being caught and remember what I taught you."

Zaylene stayed with the twins a couple of minutes before leaving the house. At this moment, the servants didn't know that it would be their last time seeing their master, especially the Norton's. Sitting comfortably on the back of the car, Zaylene watched as the house that she grew up slowly became small as Liam brought her to their destination.
