As I stepped out of the car, I smoothed down my dress and took a deep breath. That was going to be a fancy evening, and I tried to look elegant. Ethan came around to my side of the car and opened the door for me, offering his arm as we walked towards the entrance of the restaurant.
As we were seated at our table, I couldn't help but look around at the posh decor and the well-dressed patrons. Ethan and I came from very different backgrounds, and sometimes I still felt like a fish out of water in these fancy places.
But Ethan always made me feel at ease. He took my hand and gave it a squeeze, his velvety eyes shining with affection.
"You look stunning, my wife," he said, and I felt a warm flush rise to my cheeks.
"And you look charming as always, my husband," I chuckled softly to match his compliments.
"Let's go back to our hotel."
