I woke up to the blaring sound of my alarm, just like every other day. But as I rolled over to check the time, I realized it was Sunday and I had nowhere to be. I closed my eyes and snuggled deeper into my blankets, savoring the feeling of being able to sleep in.
But just as I was drifting off, my phone began to vibrate on the nightstand. I groaned and picked it up, annoyed that someone was trying to disturb my peaceful Sunday morning and saw that it was Noah.
"I should've blocked him," I muttered to myself as I scrolled through the messages. I sighed and was about to put my phone back down when it began to ring. It was Noah, calling me for the first time.
I hesitated for a moment before answering, wondering what he could possibly want.
"Hello?" I said, trying to sound as uninterested as possible.
"It's me," he said, "I was just wondering if you wanted to grab brunch today?" his voice a bit hesitant.
