Chapter 47: Fall Back To The Church
It began raining.
Michael was miraculously able to pull Maleva out of there and fall back with her.
They fled from the shadow wolf woman, AKA Maleva's mother.
After stumbling out of the deadly woods, they sloppily made it to the last place they thought they were going to end up: The ancient and abandoned church.
The one Catherine seemingly guarded with her life.
None of them trusted Catherine, the strange nun, at all, but it was better to stay outside while being chased by Maleva's mother, especially now since she was more furious than ever after hurting her daughter pretty badly by accident.
The wound in her could potentially be deadly if nothing was done to save her.
Unfortunately, for her, Michael possessed virtually no medical skills. He couldn't heal her.
With a pained heart, he carried her himself to the church.
Both of them having regained their human forms since they left the woods.
The heavy rain continued falling down all over them as Michael arrived with his girlfriend up the stairs and finally…
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Michael 'knocked' at the front doors of the decrepit church!
"Come on! Come on! Open the doors, Catherine! Open them!" Michael insisted as he continued…
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
… Banging on the doors. Desperate to enter. Hoping that Catherine, the nun, was still in there, even if quite a few days passed since the last time they saw her. They didn't know for a fact that she was still in there, after all, why would she have stayed another minute at this church that was literally falling apart, piece by piece?
Michael was hoping she was, but there was nothing to say that she was in there…
"It's useless, Michael… She's either not there or she won't open the doors for us… You better leave me here… I'll be fine… Run, Michael, run…" she begged him to leave her alone here…
"What are you talking about? I'll never leave you here…" Furious, the exhausted hunter immediately declined her extreme offer.
"I'm serious… Leave me…"
…
Then…
All of a sudden…
"Why are you two arguing outside in the rain?"
They both recognized this voice.
Her voice.
They turned around and saw Lycanna. Standing there in the heavy and cold rain. Wearing a small and adorable orange raincoat.
She was holding a lantern in her right hand.
Lighting the way in this dark and rainy environment.
"You? Here?" Michael uttered.
"Lycanna?" Maleva wasn't expecting to see her here. Lycanna who was originally supposed to be joining the two of them back in the woods, hopefully after they were done having sex, was never seen there.
Surprisingly, enough, she was here at the abandoned church instead.
"Come on, guys! The doors won't open anymore, so we've got to use another way!" Lycanna cried out to them.
"Another way?" Michael asked, confused.
"What way?" Maleva simply didn't know how long she could keep this up before collapsing.
"Come on!"
***
The short and feisty wolf spirit quickly brought him around the church and showed them an open window.
"This is the only way in! Come on guys!"
Lycanna was so short and small that she slipped right through that window without any issue.
Meanwhile, Michael squeezed himself through the window with a lot more difficulty than her, but it also worked for him.
However, not the same could be said about Maleva. Her sheer thickness, unfortunately, had her getting stuck.
She was the only one to get stuck in the window, in fact.
"Are you alright, Mal?'
"What's going on? We have no time to waste. We have to get inside," Lycanna argued, not understanding why he was taking so much time for Maleva to slip through the window until Michael attempted to pull her through.
"I'm trying…"
Her pronounced hips.
Maleva was so badly stuck in the window that anyone could have taken advantage of her.
Thankfully, no such thing happened, as Lycanna got into it before anything could happen to her.
She pulled on one of Maleva's arms, teaming up with Michael as he also desperately pulled to make her enter the church.
It turned out that Lycanna was a lot stronger than she looked, being a short and tiny wolf, but the two of them together were able to finally get her unstuck.
Thud!
"Ahhhh!" Maleva entered the church screaming because she didn't expect to be unstuck the rough way she did!
Everyone collapsed inside the main front room of the church, accidentally piling one another, but they had done it.
***
"What happened to her?" Catherine was alarmed by their presence as soon as she heard Maleva screaming during the accidental fall in the church.
Soon identifying that Maleva was injured, the nun wasted no time to fetch for a medic kit.
Saving Maleva was what mattered most here.
"Tell me: What happened to her?" Catherine repeated one more time, much more angered now.
"Don't look at me like that, okay? I found her that way! I found them outside in the rain, okay?" Lycanna shouted in the church. Her loud voice echoed and bounced from wall to wall.
"We… We were attacked in the woods not too far from here… Can you save her? Can you stop the bleeding or not?" more or less diverging from her question, it was clear that the only thing that mattered to him was Maleva and her life.
"Calm down, Romeo. She's going to be just fine," Catherine promised him.
"S—She is?"
"Most definitely," she confirmed to him, finally removing some tension from his shoulders.
"I'm glad… Hey! Now that I think about it… What are you doing here, Lycanna?" Michael turned to the short furry woman at his side.
"The rain started as I was about to make it to camp with you, guys, but I stumbled upon the church and Catherine offered me a raincoat. Isn't she nice? Huh? Then, I was about to go back on my way to join you, but then, it was at that moment that we heard screaming in the woods. Lots of it. Was that you…?" Lycanna's story naturally switched focus back to all the nightmarish things that happened to Michael and Maleva…
"I… I have to tell you what happened to us—"
—Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
All of a sudden, interrupting Michael, the two front doors of the church were banged on and burst open!
There was an intruder.
Everyone turned their heads to discover that mommy-shadow-wolf was back for more trouble!
