It was my first day at my new job. A brief summary of how I got the job. I have no idea how Vicnan did it, but he cleared my name like the incident never happened in the first place or it happened but I had nothing to do with it. the day I introduced myself at the interview, no one brought it up. I just appeared as a doctor who quit my old job seeking a much better hospital and with a certificated like mine, I guess they couldn't let me go.
I woke up very early, made my way to the bathroom and took a shower. the moment I stepped out of the bathroom, I am met with Vivian in a towel, about entering. I was a bit surprised, wondering why she would be up early, and then I remembered that she would be leaving for her family vacation today. " hey " I smiled
" you are up early. preparing to see me off?" she seemed excited as she asked
" oh.... about that " I bit my lower lips " I can't. starting my new job today "
" oh... yeah, yeah, yeah, you said that " Nodding countless times. " that is sad " In deep thought " How about I drive you to work on this first day "
"What time is your flight? " I asked, a bit worried that she may miss her flight
" 9:15. don't worry, I will be able to meet up, I will just drop you off by 8 and before 9, I will be at the airport " We fell into a long silence, as I thought about the matter. what if she doesn't meet up? the airport is quite far from the hospital but I didn't want to say no, as it may upset her
" Are you sure you would be ok?" she noticed the worries in my tone
" oh come on " smiled brightly " this is the least I can do before I leave. now, go get ready " She walked past me into the bathroom.
" hh" I sighed, then made my way to my bedroom

" Alright then. " Vivian stopped in front of the hospital. without putting out the engine, she waited for me to get out of the car " this is it "
" make sure you call me before the plane takes off, ok, " I said like a warning
" ok.... make sure you have a great first day.. if anyone tries to mess with you today, right the name down and text it to me. I will deal with the matter " she spoke with seriousness which put a smile on my face
" ok, ok " nodding " Have fun on your vacation "
" I sure will "With that, I waved her off and watched in silence, as she drove out of sight. I turn around, lifting my head to get a better view of the massive building before me. it was way bigger than my past hospital. thanks to Vicnan, I once again have something to do with my life.
I didn't expect to be so busy on my first day, or is it that being jobless for a while made me lazy, probably? I had little conversations with a few doctors and they were very interesting to be with. the young nurses enjoyed talking about hot doctors and whenever the head nurse appears, they pretend to be working.
When I just arrived, I was told about a person called Mad Dog. I didn't understand why he was called that until I got to meet him myself. he is worst than a mad dog and obviously doesn't like me and the worst part of it all, he is my superior. He made me work three surgeries with him on my first day but I didn't mind, I have worked with worst. The surgery went very well and I worked like an expert, after all, I have been in the field for long.
Coming out of the OR, I took off my face mask " hh " sighed in relief. My eyes fell on the family who spoke to the nurse, they were relieved, I could see the joy on their faces and this put a smile on my face. completely exhausted, I made my way to the office. the moment I entered, I crashed into my chair " aaa" panting
"How did it go?" I flinch when I suddenly heard a voice very close to my ear. I lifted my head to see Doctor Elijah, my new college and he stayed too close to my face, I had to roll my chair away from him a bit
" oh " feeling a bit awkward, I turn to my left to see Doctor Lily, another college. She had eyes on me, desperately waiting for me to tell them about my experience with Mad Dog " ammm, it went well " rolling my chair back towards my table the moment Elijah made way
" went well? " he found it hard to believe and I nodded knowing it was a lie. Mad dog always found a reason to scold me in the OR and it was getting irritating, but what can I do, I just got this job
" Does he hate me? " I finally asked and Lily bust into laughter " It is not funny, he keeps getting on my last nerve and it is only my first day "
" trust me. it is not you " Lily said in the middle of her laugh
" he hates everyone. even his wife " Elijah said, surprising me
" his wife?" curiosity in her tone "Do you know his wife "
" I do not know her personally but people who have seen them together say that he doesn't treat her well. That is the thing about arranged marriage you see" Elijah explained and I gave a slight nod, processing the information.
" I see.... if he doesn't like her then why marry her. it was an arranged marriage, not a forced marriage " I frowned. " I feel sorry for his wife " I shake my head in pity. resting my back with my eyes closed "What is the time please?"
" 7:43 " Lily responded "Your shift is almost up "
" thank goodness, I have had enough for one day " feeling relived " Who is Doctor Noah "remembered I heard the nurses talking about him, they kept exaggerating his hotness
" Oh damn it " Elijah sounded offended "Don't tell me you too
" what did I do?" confused and before he could respond Lily interrupted
" don't mind him. he is just jealous "
" No, I am not " he defended
" Yes you are.. " she rolled her eyes then it fell on me. She leaned forward in her chair with both arms on the table " he is a new doctor that came in Yesterday " She bit her lower lips " Damn. he is hot, absolutely my type. tall, handsome, ocean blue eyes well built, unlike somebody here " rolled her eyes at Elijah
" he doesn't have blue eyes and he is not tall, " Elijah said
" yes he does "Lily spoke angrily
" I saw him yesterday and dude is my height"
" Why are you lying? " she yelled " I was him with my own eyes "
" so did I " Elijah looks at me "The dude uses a spell or something. everyone keeps saying different about him and it creeps me out "Hearing those words I thought of Vicnan. he once told me every person sees him differently, that I am the only one to see his true form. could this new doctor be Vicnan? but why will he come here?. lost in deep thought while the two argued
After a while, my eyes fell on my wrist to check the time. 7:53 I have to change so I can leave, my shift was almost over. I left the two arguing and went to get change.
Standing in front of the hospital building waiting for Edward to come pick me up. he wanted to take me out to celebrate my new job. I couldn't stop thing about what Elijah said. why would Vicnan come work in the hospital? is he trying to watch me closely or something? what is he up to? thinking to myself " Hh" I sighed
" Hey?" I suddenly heard a voice behind me. a voice which I certainly am not familiar with but it had a strange power over me and this made me feel unease. " Hi," the person spoke again. I turn around to be taken aback by that familiar at the same time not familiar figure. What is happening here? Tall, damn hot, silver hair and most of all, purple eyes. there was only one person I knew with purple eyes. Vicnan. who is this strange person before me? or is it Vicnan trying to play a prank on me
" h...h...hi " I managed to say
" you are Cleopatra, right " he seemed glad to see me but how did he know my name " I was told we had another new doctor other than me and I got curious " gave a welcoming smile. while I tried to figure out who he was " I'm Doctor Noah "Hearing this was when I noticed his white coat
" oh...oh my God " I felt a bit relieved "You are the doctor Noah?"
" you have heard of me?" with an eyebrow raised
" Yeah... " nodding "You are like the main topic of every female doctor?"
" Really " smiled "What do they say?" I didn't expect his question.
" Y....you know, just how good-looking you are, " I said, remembering not to say anything about how everyone spoke differently of his looks since I wasn't sure who he was. he gave me this familiar vibe that I get with Vicnan and his eyes stared deeply into me just like Vicnan does. everything about him reminded me of Vicnan. I think he is not human. " anyways, nice to finally met you, " I said offering my hand for a handshake. he hesitate to take my hand then with a bright smile, he took it.
the moment we touched I was flooded with relaxing electricity. making me tense a little and I relaxed almost immediately. eyes locked to his. he reminded me of Vicnan. surely, he wasn't human. and I think just like Vicnan I can see his true form. we remained like this lost in each other's eyes on till
" Poom, Poom. Cleo " Edward interrupted with his car, immediately I broke contact with Noah.
