" Haaaa " a soft gasp escaped my lips while I stared into his eyes. so close, he was so close but I wasn't scared, not even a little. His purple eyes had turned into the darkest of red, his skin turned pale, and dark veins were all over his face. He stared deep into my eyes, like he was trying to read me and at the same time scare me. But that won't be happening, not when I have searched for him for so long and finally found him " Demon..." I whispered " I would have guessed Vampire or something else " his face instantly returned to normal
" that isn't the reaction I was expecting from a human " with an eyebrow raised
" where you expecting me to scream and faint?"
" Probably " he shrugs, while leaning back with his arms crossed " that should be the normal reaction "
" first of all, this is not the first time I am seeing you like that and I knew you weren't human, secondly my mother has weird interests so she made me read a lot of books about night creatures, the paranormal, the undead. " I smiled at the thought of the old days with my mom " and thirdly, for fucking sake I was just attacked by a terrible, disgusting-looking creature, what could be more terrifying than that? "

" who gets scared of their saviour?" I responded with another question. My eyes fell on the fireplace while I Reached for my hair band, I pulled it off, letting my hair fall to my back " I am not scared of you but happy "

" yes. I have been searching for you. Where is your hideout? " looking at him once again and this time he was the one to look away
" why have you been searching for me?" He asked not looking at me. I remained silent, trying to examine the question. A good question which needs a valid answer and that I do not have. How am I going to explain that I have been thinking about him, I can't last an hour without him coming to mind, how will I tell him that I am obsessed with his eyes and I always feel this need to see him? I mean dude is a total stranger. I am sure he will think of me as stupid " I see you don't have an answer" looks my way
" To be honest " I sat up trying to look confident, I don't care what he might think " I can't stop thinking about you, I don't know why I just can't, I feel the need to see you always, I think it is some kind to illness you put in me or maybe it's an obsession and the worst part of It is that I don't even know a single thing about you, not even a name. Walking to the bedroom to prepare the bed " I can't sleep" she said, I stopped to look at her. She wasn't looking in my direction when she spoke, she stared at the fire deeply.
"Pardon?"
" I said, I can't sleep " announced once again. I tried reading her to know what was wrong. She seemed fine, just weak. I couldn't tell what she was thinking which made me frown. Things have gotten far different from our first two encounters. The first time we met, I could read her mind but today, she's totally locked out. Secondly, I sense our bond had become stronger. I guess that is why I have been having a hard time staying away. I want to stay away, I want to protect her from me but I can't. I find myself coming back here to see her physically, coming back to watch her.

" Why do you think? " she gave me a death stare, that familiar one, that one I've missed very much " it's because of you " her voice rose

" yes, you. The moment I go to sleep. Boom. I will wake up, back in camp and all this will be like it never happened. You have no idea how hard it is to search for someone. And now the lord has brought you to me, I can't let you go " she scolds. Damn she looks so adorable, if only she knows what I am going through as well. " you are too weak for that and besides, what use am I of to you " crossed my arms, waiting for the answer she would give this time.
" I don't know. Like I said before, I don't know why I am drawn to you, I have a lot of questions and I am certain that you have no intentions of giving me the answer. Until all this is cleared out and I know what is wrong with me, I want to have you by my side " she smiled brightly

"Why don't you leave me alone," Vicnan said with frustration in his tone. He sits under the tree for peace and alone time, but this little human has sworn not to let him have peace. No matter where he goes, somehow she still finds him. " how did you even find me? I am like 30 miles away from your town "
" I thought I told you not to run away " frowning, trying to hold back her tears " do you know how hard it is to find you "
" then don't find me " he stood up " why are you doing this "
" I said I like you ok. And I want you by my side " she yells, Vicnan remains speechless
Back to present
" so, I can't sleep "
" hhh " sighed in defeat " fine " walked up to her and offered my hand " give me your hand " she did ask questions, but I saw the confusion in her eyes when she took my hand. I wrapped my palm around her wrist for a few seconds, then took it away, leaving a black shiny bracelet on her wrist.
" wow," she smiled in admiration " what is this for? "
" with that whenever you need me I will be there " I responded " now can you please go to sleep. You are very weak " she caught my arm when I wanted to leave
"When are you going to tell me your name?" She asked.
" Vicnan "
" Vic.....nan, Vicnan " repeating the name. For a moment she was lost in her thoughts " Vicnan... It sounds familiar "
"Probably because your mother had a weird interest " I reminded with a shrug. Not waiting for her response I vanished into the room. The next time I came out she had already fallen asleep on the couch and I carried her into the bedroom so she would sleep more comfortably. How do I protect her?
