The first thing I learned from the book is how to use your spiritual energy. Well, the theory at least. However, in practice, I could not even feel any prana. It says in the book that all living things have a prana reserve. You need to activate your spirit circuits. But I can't do that even after unlocking my circuits. It's because the book said you will feel a sudden change in emotion the first time you unlock it, you just need to remember the feeling. But mine were unlocked through artificial means, so I meditated for nearly three hours just to concentrate. It also says that mages can hypnotize themselves far more easily than normal people. This is why they can use spell craft that requires precise control over spiritual energy to work. Spell Craft is basically memorizing a code which will then be followed by the circuits. They can also use this to hypnotize themselves to activate their circuits. The brain is from where the soul controls the body and receives information, so hypnosis can affect things like spirit circuits which are a part of the soul.
Well, after reading a few more books on self-hypnosis, I finally was able to activate my circuits, with a single-word chanting. I thought of the word to be "Set".
I yelled "Set" the whole day to increase my proficiency at unlocking my circuits. I did it so many times that my circuits unlocked every time I said "Set" with the intent. This would normally take weeks but with the help of self-hypnosis, I was able to do it within 6 hours. After that, I ate my lunch. It was quite late for having lunch but I lost myself in training. The reason why self-hypnosis works so well is that it's not normal self-hypnosis. This is also similar to spell craft as it uses prana too. All of the soul has some level of command over spiritual energy but only the circuits can do it at a decent rate.
Self-hypnosis is one of the few spells that people can use without their circuits. I also learned from Yuuki that I have become pretty decent at this. It's far greater than what most magi can do. He then explained it was because of the daemon that I could perform some forms of Mysteria easily. I then went back to the workshop, I started practicing the first spell in the book. It's called understanding. It's a spell that allows me to know more about the thing I am using the spell on. After three hours, I finally managed to use it. I then practiced it for two more days to finally use it on a level that would make strengthening possible. After showing Yuuki what I could do, He said it was more than enough to practice strengthening. So, I started
to learn it. After learning the theory, I took a pencil and started practicing it. But even after a week, I couldn't do it. The best I could do was get the aether to coat the pencil. To strengthen it, you need to not only coat it but also fill up the gaps in its spiritual structure. There will always be gaps but the more precisely you fill certain gaps the more potent the property of the pen that those gaps represent would become. Strengthening requires precise aether control. As for "understanding", I decided to continue its training too. Well, I was pretty good at it but I needed to learn more. One of the reasons is because of the next step in material transmutation is proiectura. Proiectura is a way to create things out of aether. It's useless but most magi learn it to improve aether control. The reason it's useless is because the product is pretty underwhelming. It's far worse than the original product and it is much more effective to use a less expensive replacement and then strengthen it.
But the reason it's so useless is that we can't know much information about the original thing, which leads to much more degraded copies. If I can know more about reagents and catalysts in spell craft then I can
use proiectura to make them instantly. It is widely known that mysteria can not be reproduced effectively through projection but improving understanding could change that. Heck, I don't even need to make the whole thing, I just need to make the part that represents all the mysteria and then integrate it into my spells, that way I could use powerful spells without anything but mana almost instantly. It would make me one of the most powerful mages in modern magi history. Yuuki noticed me still practicing this spell but adding my own code to it too. It failed miserably. I had six attempts last 7 days and all failed. Yuuki asked me what I was doing. I told him everything. He said,
"Don't be stupid. Something like that would take at least a hundred years to make by a novice magi like you. We don't have that much time".
But I was still stubborn. So he sighed and thought about something for a minute.
"Fine, I will give you books that give instructions on Aloric mental strengthening. It's normally impossible for most magi to use them but you are a special case."
"What will they help me with?"
"They will help you learn things and solve complex problems faster, for now, continue with the normal training."
After a week of training, I finally managed to do strengthening. I strengthened the pencil's tensile strength and hardness by three times. It was then the books came. As Yuuki predicted I was a genius when it comes to these things because of the daemon. I could do mental separation by a degree of 3. Which means I can operate 27 different thoughts at the same time. I can even link them together to solve various problems. It's like 27 me working to solve a problem. Of course, it shuts
my motor nervous system ns senses completely during my usage. I am also speed up my thoughts by three. This will make it so much easier for me to learn spellcraft and make my own.
