At both lunch and dinner another set trays with stale food were brought to me. However, I already had my lunch and dinner prepared.
I had Kaylee snoop when the two of them left left my house to find out who sent the order and by the end of the day she had found out. It was Rina. Unsurprisingly. She'd very openly displayed her hatred for Ayan.
The next day after preparing breakfast for myself it was something different using the same ingredients. And once again stale food was sent to me.
For how long did Rina intend to keep this up? Was she trying to starve me? If it weren't for the vegetables in the garden and I cooked for myself what would I have done? What did she expect me to do?
She was really messing with me. What an annoying joke. I really wish Ayan had been a less shittier person, then perhaps she wouldn't be getting treated like this.
As for my plans for the day I had asked Kaylee and Yema to call the caretaker over so I could ask him about his garden.
When he arrived he seemed nervous and was looking around anxiously. Maybe he thought he was in trouble?
"Good morning my lady." He said with a light bow of his head. He was a young man who appeared to be in his late 20s. He was slightly tall and had a lean build. From Ayans' memories I'd never seen them interact with each other. But perhaps rumors of Ayan were making him nervous.
"Your name?" I asked him.
"My name is Enan, madam. I work on the estate farming fields." He told me still nervous. I needed to find a way to make him feel more comfortable.
"I heard you are the one responsible for maintaining this beautiful garden."
"Yes," he said then quickly proceeded to bow his head low. "I sincerely apologize for not having taken out the vegetables when you moved in.I was busy at the farm but I will do so as soon as possible and have them replaced with the flowers and plants of your choice." He said in a panic.
Is that why he was nervous? He thought I was upset because of the garden crops. I'd only lived here for almost a week and I was moved here suddenly. There was no way he had time to take of the crops.
"No, no. It's alright. I'm not upset with the way the garden is, in fact I'm grateful to you."
"Madam?" he asked confused.
"In fact I should be the one apologizing
"No, that's alright. The crops grown here are just test crops. Because no one has lived in this house for so long I asked to use the garden to grow a small sample of crops intended to be grown in the next harvest on the estate farms. That way we can observe and monitor how they'll grow and know what measures to take to grow ."
"I see." I nodded my head in understanding.
"You say you took some of the vegetables may I ask what u."
"Let's just say all this I'm spending alone here with nothing to do has made me develop a passion for cooking."
"You can cook my lady?" He asked in disbelief.
"I'm not great at it I'm just attempting , but I hope you can keep that between us."
"Yes, madam." He answered instantly. I didn't really care whether he told others or not
"I wanted to know if there were more crops or ingredients from the farm you'd be able to give me if it's not a problem that is. I would like to experiment more with my cooking. "
Whilst the vegetables in the garden were great and were saving me from Rina's games I didn't want to keep on eating the same things. If Rina was going to continue with her shenanigans then I wanted a bit more variety to my meals in terms of ingredients and to make different things.
I figured if I asked the caretaker Enan he might have crops he could give me from the farm.
"Of course my lady, tell me what you need and I will bring it to you." He said to me sincerely as the interest in his eyes sparked and his body language eased up a bit. Now that he realized why I called him, I'm sure he was more relaxed.
"Really? Thank you Enan." I said to him and he blushed. "I'll be counting on you then."
Later that day Enan brought a large with some potatoes, brown rice, corn, cucumber. A wide range of different grains and vegetables.
" Here you are, my lady, I hope these will be enough for now."
