"At first I wasn't sure but now I can ask you with confidence. Do you still love General Ayan?"
My mouth was slightly ajar, too stunned by Laika's words. It took a moment before I could answer. "What do you mean by that? Of course, I love the General I'm his wife." I nervously lied.
"I have no doubt that you did at one point," Laika cooly answered as she looked into my eyes in a way that told me she was sure she was right about me. "You used to be so obsessed with the General to the point that you centered everything on him. However, now it's like you have no interest at all. You don't fight for the General's attention like the rest of the wives do, you never speak unless spoken to. It's pretty much only the General who's making advances toward you."
She then turned away from me as she walked towards the railing of the Gazebo that overlooked the water stream below. She casually leaned against the railing looking down at the water before continuing on.
