In the Eastern Divine Region, if one looked at the space today, they would see an uncountable number of shooting stars moving at the speed of light.
All these shooting stars were the Profound Arks filled with the best cultivators of the whole Eastern Divine Region; the expedition force gathered today to kill the devil that had caused genocide on the Eternal Heaven Realm.
Their morale was all high, and not a single soul thought that they would lose, especially when they had the strongest cultivator on their side now.
"Are we participating in the fight, Master?"
She had an absolutely beautiful face, indifferent like a clear and deep pool. She was clad in white garments that tightly clung to her mature body and had a large sword strapped to her back.
Her long black hair was tied in a single high ponytail with a single bang falling by the right side of her face. Her skin was white and without any ugly spots on it, perfect and symmetrical.
"Eliminating evil is the duty of us cultivators. The devil has killed the Eternal Heavenly God Emperor and killed the innocents of the Eternal Heaven Realm; it is our duty to kill such an evil being."
She looked at the back of the tall old man with white hair and a long beard, carefully listening to him.
"But, with the presence of the Dragon Monarch, this old man doubts we would need to fight the devil ourselves. Just take it as a lesson and learn from it. This would be the first time watching the strongest people fighting; it's a perfect opportunity to learn."
"I understand. I won't disappoint you, Master." The woman nodded.
The old man smiled, hearing her reply.
He was Jun Wuming, also known as the Sword Sovereign—the strongest sword master within the Eastern Divine Region and also the oldest person within the Eastern Divine Region.
The beautiful woman that stood behind him was named Jun Xilei, an orphan that he saved and taught as his disciple.
Jun Wuming was already fifty-thousand years old. He knew he didn't have much time left to live.
At first, he wanted his disciple to participate in the Profound God Convention and become one of the people to spend three thousand years within the Eternal Heaven Pearl and train.
He had full trust in Jun Xilei's talent that she would become a Divine Master. Once she did, he would have no worries left in the world and could leave it with peace.
But the heavens had different plans for them as Eternal Heaven God Emperor was brutally killed, the Eternal Heaven Realm was destroyed, and the Eternal Heaven Pearl was stolen by the devil.
Without the Eternal Heaven Pearl and the Eternal Heaven Realm, there was no hope of the Profound God Convention ever being held.
Jun Wuming sighed, a look of sadness appeared over his face.
Eternal Heaven God Emperor was one of his friends. He felt quite sad knowing he won't be able to ever meet him ever again.
Jun Wuming raised his head and looked at the middle-aged man standing a distance away from him.
"Sword Master Xuanyuan, you said we will be able to meet your Master soon. Is he not part of the expedition force?"
"Soon." Xuanyuan Wentian looked towards Jun Wuming and smiled. "Master is not part of the expedition force, but you will be able to meet him once we reach the Snow Song Realm. He likes to act alone."
"This old man is really waiting to meet your Master." Jun Wuming smiled. "I want to see the man who was able to raise a swordsman like you."
He had met Xuanyuan Wentian in his travels and had the opportunity to exchange swords with him. And even though Xuanyuan Wentian was not as strong as him, his talent in swordsmanship impressed Jun Wuming.
He, the strongest sword user within the Eastern Divine Region, has never met anyone with such flawless sword play.
After the fight, he heard from Xuanyuan Wentian that it was his Master who taught him swordsmanship (skill) which piqued Jun Wuming's interest.
He hasn't heard of anyone who could teach such a sword play, making him quite interested in meeting this mysterious Master.
He was already nearing his death. If this mysterious Master was really as good as Xuanyuan Wentian proclaimed, then Jun Wuming thought it wasn't a bad idea to leave Jun Xilei under his care after he died.
Not only will his disciple have a strong person protecting her, but she would also learn from him, further strengthening her swordsmanship.
"I have never seen anyone with better swordsmanship than him." Xuanyuan Wentian smirked. "Forgive me, but even you, Sword Sovereign, pales under comparison to my master's swordsmanship. It's not an exaggeration to say that my master has reached the pinnacle of swordsmanship."
Jun Wuming's eyes turned sharp as blades, filled with intense sword and fighting intent. A fearless smile appeared over his face hearing Xuanyuan Wentian.
"The more this old man listens, the more this old man gets excited. At least tell this old man the name of your master."
"Not now." Xuanyuan Wentian smiled and looked at the white giant covered in snow, floating in the space all alone, and said. "But once you meet him, you will understand. I'm sure you would be surprised."
"Hahaha. I hope it's not too late; this old man doesn't have time to be patient for too long."
Xuanyuan Wentian nodded but didn't say anything else.
His master?
Of course, he was talking about Yun Che.
And even though it was not Yun Che who taught him swordsmanship, he indeed gave him Profound Art that improved his swordsmanship immensely to the level where he felt like a toddler waving his sword around.
So it was not wrong to say that Yun Che was indeed his sword master.
Xuanyuan Wentian knew that this force was heading to kill Yun Che; he couldn't help but chuckle at the futility and stupidity of this alliance.
Even the presence of the Dragon Monarch didn't change his mind.
He had seen Yun Che and fought against him.
Xuanyuan Wentian understood the horror of the man named Yun Che.
In his mind, the man represented the very definition of despair; no matter how strong you are, what secrets you hold, what treasures you can use, Xuanyuan Wentian firmly believed that nothing could touch that man unless he wished so.
That's why he joined the force.
He wanted to see the faces of all these people when they realize how futile their attempts are.
The despair as it filled their very existence.
No matter how strong cultivators are, they can never reach the high-heaven itself.
And Yun Che was high-heaven in Xuanyuan Wentian's mind.
…
The skies of the Snow Song Realm were covered in a thin layer of white clouds which showered the ground with pure white snowflakes, shining brilliantly as the light reflected upon them.
It was a scene simply breathtaking, like stars were falling on the ground but they didn't hold any destruction in the least.
Yun Che stood in the skies of the Snow Song Realm with a calm look on his face.
His long black hair danced behind him, and his black-golden robes fluttered in the wind, making distinct sounds.
The pair of ink-black gaze stared into the space above, nothing seemed to be able to stop his gaze as it seemed to penetrate the thin layer of clouds and reach the very end of the Primal Chaos itself.
Suddenly, the space beside him rippled before Ying'er appeared out of it.
The world instantly seemed to dull down at her presence, as if afraid to even dirty it but its existence.
As always, she was clad in golden robes and a thin veil hiding her face. Her long golden hair was left loose behind her back, half of it falling over her shoulder to her bountiful bosom, and the other half freely falling behind her back.
Her pair of extremely charming and hypnotic golden eyes looked at Yun Che with a gold glint before her cherry red lips parted.
"That man… He is mine."
Her voice was cold and frosty, full of intense bloodlust and killing intent.
It looked like she couldn't wait to kill someone.
"Of course, I keep my promises." Yun Che chuckled and turned his head towards the frosty and cool-looking Ying'er. "Since I have said I'll help you avenge him, I will. He is all yours to keep."
Looking at his pitch-black eyes that stared at her with a playful glint, Ying'er suddenly felt her heart skip a beat causing her cheeks to feel slightly hotter than usual, turning red.
Embarrassed, she turned her head away from him.
A small silence passed as she seemed to be thinking of something before she finally spoke: "Yun Che… Can you really bring back dead people?"
"What do you mean?" Yun Che smiled and asked.
"Yesterday… When you said you can bring back Heavenly Star Wolf God…" Ying'er looked towards Yun Che with a rare soft expression and inquired. "Is it really possible… to resurrect dead people?"
The question has been within her mind since yesterday when Yun Che claimed that he can resurrect Jasmine's brother as long as he wished for it.
Since it was a special moment for the both sisters, Ying'er decided to remain silent and not ask the question.
Now that she was alone with him, she finally decided to ask him.
Staring at her weak expression, something that was rarer than Ancestral Goddess popping out of nowhere, Yun Che released a long sigh.
He couldn't help but remember the time when he told Jasmine that he can resurrect dead people.
She had asked him the same question, with the same expression.
So he understood what she was thinking instantly.
'So many girls with daddy, mommy, and brother issues… what a weird world.'
He raised his hand and tenderly caressed Ying'er's cheek, causing her body to tremble slightly before she voluntarily moved her face closer to his hand, wanting to feel it.
"Yes, I can."
"Then—"
Before she could say anything, he cut her mid off and smiled wryly.
"There are certain conditions that must be fulfilled before I can resurrect someone."
"... What kind of condition?" With a heavy heart, Ying'er asked.
From Yun Che's expression, she could already deduce that he seemed to understand her thoughts.
The fact that he put a condition forward meant that he knew her wish couldn't be realized.
This made her feel heavy and constricted in her heart.
"I need to have at least a fragment of the soul of the deceased. Without it, even I am helpless to resurrect the dead… for now at least."
"For… now?" Ying'er's eyes instantly shone with expectations.
She obviously did not have the soul strand of her mother, but from Yun Che's tone, he clearly indicated that the condition could be lifted in the future.
It made her look into Yun Che's eyes with expectations.
"Yes, for now." Yun Che smiled and gently played with her golden luscious hair. "In the future, I would be able to revive whoever I desire. I should be able to even travel back in the past, either to collect the soul strand of the dead person or even bring him into the future. There are many possibilities, though not without its own negative results."
"Travel back in the past… Is that possible?" Ying'er asked, her voice full of doubts.
She couldn't be blamed.
Traveling back in time… Not even True Gods could do that, let alone Yun Che, who still hasn't entered the True God Realm.
It sounded absurd to her.
Yun Che playfully pinched her cheeks softly and chuckled.
"Ying'er, my dear, you are saying that to the man who can resurrect dead people. Traveling back in the past is not difficult for me."
He already had Time Manipulation and Time Manipulation Resistance that he got from the Eternal Heaven Pearl.
The only thing he was lacking right now was energy.
Once he went out of the Primal Chaos and started absorbing the chaos outside, he would have an infinite source of energy.
At that time, let alone time travel, Yun Che was confident enough to create another Primal Chaos from scratch.
"Well…" Ying'er turned her head away, feeling embarrassed.
