Closing the door, Yun Che walked toward the bed and threw the stack of talismans on it. He picked on and curiously looked at it before using it.
The intricate design on the talisman shone brightly, signaling its use. While it was happening, Yun Che opened the skills log and waited for a new skill to appear. It didn't take long for it to appear.
["Transmission" skill acquired!]
Yun Che raised a brow at the message.
'Why didn't I get Talisman Art instead?'
Then it suddenly hit him… he never drew a talisman to begin with!
"I should draw one then." He softly muttered.
He looked around the room, looking for a paper or something. His eyes landed on a book placed at a table some distance away from him. Closing on to it, he realized that it was an exercise to some breathing technique.
Ignoring it, he ripped out a page from the book before turning it around towards the whiteside. Using his finger as a pen and profound energy as the ink, Yun Che started to copy the design of the talisman he had used before.
While doing it, he also had skill logs on to see the appearance of the required skill. It didn't take long before the log started to update itself.
["Talisman Art" skill acquired!]
["Calligraphy" skill acquired!]
["Art" skill acquired!]
["Penmanship" skill acquired!]
Blinking, staring at the list of new skills that appeared, Yun Che simply shrugged and maxed all of them.
["Talisman Art" skill level maxed!]
["Calligraphy" skill level maxed!]
["Art" skill level maxed!]
["Penmanship" skill level maxed!]
Excited, he stood up from the chair and raised his hand, with his finger pointing outwards. This time around, Yun Che used the air as his board and his finger as a pen.
Profound energy became alive in his body and traveled to his finger. It started to shine brightly in golden light. With extremely precise motions, he started to write in the air, leaving behind a trail of profound energy.
["Runic Art" skill acquired!]
Yun Che smirked while staring at the word "Wind" written in the air through profound energy. With a simple flick of his finger, the word shone before a gust of wind was produced!
Yun Che laughed loudly, stunning Jasmine who was meditating and purifying the poison within her body. She hurriedly peeked outside the poison pearl to see what was going on just to see Yun Che laughing loudly like a maniac.
'Sometimes this princess questions her own choice of picking him…'
Seeing it was better to not question what happened to him, she cut off her connection from the outside world before once again returning to purifying her body.
Meanwhile, Yun Che looked like an excited kid who just got his favorite toy. Runic Art was one of his favorite skills in any world, and he just got one, of course he would be happy and excited to get it.
'Also, I can cast different buffs on myself. Meaning, I can increase my powers further!'
Once again, his hand danced. This time, the word "water" was created in the air. The moment he gave the word a gentle flick of his finger, it shone before a burst of water was released from it.
Seeing this, Yun Che's eyes shone.
In this world, the profound energy, unlike mana, was already refined into elements. For example, one could find Fire Profound Energy, Earth Profound Energy, Lightning Profound Energy and so on in the air. And depending on the profound veins attribute, absorb the said profound energy.
In simple terms, the affinity here pointed towards the structure of one profound veins.
As such, if one didn't have affinity towards a certain element, the chances of being able to use that element was null for him. The same rule applied to him too!
Unless he ate the seed corresponding to the element, he was not able to use the said element's profound art even if he possessed a skill regarding that art!
Runic Art, on the other hand, passed this limitation. As it, instead of taking energy from the inside of his profound vein, took energy from the surroundings depending on what the word represented.
In short, even if he doesn't have water seed right now, he could still use water with the help of Runic Art. Though it was an indirect approach which wasn't as powerful in direct combat, since it was impossible to match the destructiveness of water profound art with simple water art produced by Runic Art.
But Yun Che never had planned to use it as such. The best usage of Runic Art lies in its supportive ability! Like in RPG games, Yun Che could buff himself! And since it absorbed energy from the surroundings to build itself, he won't be using his own reserve to do so.
'With this, I've taken another step closer to becoming stronger! Though it still takes a chunk of my energy during the drawing process, compared to the benefits it provides, that's nothing.'
Putting the talisman back in his inventory and taking a cold bath to freshen himself up, Yun Che left for the Profound Gathering Tower. While moving towards it, he was quite cautious to not bump into any mob by mistake.
Like yesterday, he didn't want to waste another day.
And as he had thought, when he reached the Profound Gathering Tower, his eyes landed on Murong Yi and another dude who walked in front of him. From a glance alone, he could tell they knew each other.
'Thank god I was cautious enough or it would have been another mentally retard day for me.'
To make sure he didn't bump into him till the end of third month, he marked him on the map function. This way, he would know his position all the time. This would save him from the headache of hitting him in the future.
'In fact, the mark shows anyone with a hostile reaction towards me in red. Should I make it a habit of looking at the map all the time?'
Though it sounded like quite some work, he decided to put some further thoughts into it in the future. After all, no one wanted to spend most of their day looking at the map all the time. It would be a pain in the ass thing to do. And Yun Che hated things that were a pain in his ass…
'That sounds so fucking wrong…'
After he was sure that Murong Yi and the dude with him had left, Yun Che entered the Profound Gathering Tower and made his way towards the tenth floor. This place had the highest concentration of profound energy. As such, it would increase his speed of cultivation by a fold.
The whole room was surrounded by a strong profound energy seal. He hadn't caught it yesterday, but he realized that he couldn't hear a thing from the outside. It probably meant that there was a sound proof array working around him.
'I should learn it… For the, ahem, future purposes…'
Once inside the room, Jasmine appeared in front of him. It was time to learn the Great Way of Buddha!
