Chapter 48 - Third Prince

"Mmmm…mmmph"

Lyla closed her eyes in bliss as Raymond worked his tongue in her mouth, reaching out to every corner. His hand didn't stay idle either as it snaked below her back and squeezed her ass.

"Nnnng!...more," Lyla hugged him tighter and leaned into him feeling the need to become one with him overwhelming her senses.

"Touch me more~"

Hearing Lyla's sensual voice Raymond felt his desire for her reach new heights and shoved his tongue further in.

-Clink! -Clank!

Their makeout session was interrupted when sounds of something moving sounded behind Lyla. Raymond let go of her buttocks and broke the kiss.

Her face darkened instantly as she felt his warmth leaving her body. She turned with an irritated frown on her face, intending to vanquish the source of that disturbance.

A cruel smile replaced her frown when she saw her half brother crawling out of the debris, looking like shit.

'Hah! I almost forgot about him!'

[Yeah, I thought you guys were going to start banging here in the open ground!]

'Shut up!'

Lyla walked towards Felix with her sabre in her hands. Her cheeks were flushed red due to Heartsbane's comments, coupled with a sadistic smirk on her face, she looked dangerous.

Felix had a sinking feeling in his gut looking at her, he quickly turned around and started crawling in the opposite direction.

"Where do you think you are going, dear brother?"

"Arghhh!"

Felix screamed at the top of his lungs when he felt a blade stabbing through his right calf, stopping him from moving further.

Lyla had appeared behind him before he could get away and had stabbed her sabre in his calf. She slowly twisted the blade, making it even more painful for Felix.

"Arghhh!" Tears flowed down like a river as Felix felt dizzy from the pain. "Stop…p-please stop…You can't do this to me. I am your brother!"

"Oh! I thought you were just the Young Lord Denver. Isn't that what you wanted me to call you?"

"Noo! No, you are my sister. Of course, you don't have to call me that!"

"Hah! You didn't think of me as a sister when you were lusting after my body! And even now you don't see me that way," Lyla sneered. "You are going to die here today, why not be honest before your death?"

Felix felt his heartbeat quickening hearing her words. No, he cannot die! He still had so much to accomplish. He had not yet married the princess, he had not yet reached the peak of his life.

"No, no, you can't kill me! Kinslaying is a grievous sin! You will forever be a sinner if you kill me!"

Like a drowning man clutching at straws, he was still trying to escape his fate.

"Hmph! Sinner or not, it doesn't matter!" Lyla spat out, pointing her finger towards Raymond. "Didn't you see what he just did? He went against the heavens to free a slave! I can't be worried about something as insignificant as being a sinner if I have to be worthy of him. I must become stronger and I will start by killing a scum like you!"

Her eyes burned with fierce determination as she spoke, her grip on her sabre handle tightening.

"No! Don't d-do it…p-please spare my life."

[In your dreams! Lyla, just touch him already. I have been wanting to poison him for so long, I can barely hold myself back.]

The voice of Heartsbane resounded in her mind which further fueled her desire to kill Felix.

With a nod of her head, she brought her hand towards his face.

"You always wanted to touch me, didn't you? Don't worry, as your dear sister it's my duty to fulfil your wish!"

"NOOO!"

Lyla grabbed his neck with every intention to crush it, but she held back. He would die too quickly if she did that. No, he would need to suffer for everything she had been put through.

Heartsbane surged into action as purplish miasma started covering his neck. She could poison him and end his life in an instant, but just like her host, she wanted to make him suffer.

"Arggh! No…don't!"

First, it started with burnt marks appearing on his neck which slowly spread to his face. It looked like his whole face had been scorched by fire.

After he writhed in pain for a while, Lyla was somewhat satisfied as she ordered the Heartsbane to end his life.

"Kuhhh!..."

Felix let out a dry cough and tried to claw at her face in a desperate attempt to save himself, but his fingers never touched her face, they stilled in midair just in front of her nose before falling down lifelessly.

Lyla closed her eyes as a drop of tear formed at the corner of her eye. No one could tell if she was mourning her brother or if it was a tear of joy for finally taking a step closer to getting her revenge. Because her face returned to an emotionless state as she opened her eyes.

But soon a beautiful smile formed on her it when Raymond's voice reached her ears.

*******

"So…you are saying you're the third prince?"

Raymond asked as he helped the red haired man to sit down properly. His whole body was in a mess. Several injuries covered his body and face making him almost unrecognisable.

"Cough, yeah, I am the third prince. How many times do I have to tell you?"

Egon coughed in frustration. This man in front of him seems to be hell bent on not believing him, no matter how much he tried to convince him.

"Nah, I don't believe you! You definitely don't look like one."

"That's because I am not in my best state. Goddammit! Look at my red hair, isn't it enough to tell you that I belong to the Imperial Family?"

Egon raged. He had never been in a situation like this where he had to prove his identity. If he still had his spatial ring he would have already shown his Imperial Token as proof, but it was taken away from him when he was ambushed.

"Nuh-uh, I know a chick who has red hair but she acts nothing like a princess." Raymond narrowed his eyes on him. "So don't think having red hair is enough to prove you are a prince."

"Arghh! This is so frustrating! Why don't you believe me? I am telling the truth."

"Fine! Let's assume you are the third prince, okay?" Egon nodded grudgingly at his words. "That doesn't mean you can be ungrateful, I just saved your life. You need to pay me back for it!"

"But I have no money on me right now!"

"Then acknowledge the life debt between us," Raymond said casually.

"Hell no!"

Egon reeled back in shock. He didn't want to have anything to do with this guy. No, rather he didn't want to have anything to do with the outside world.

He had left the Capital city for the first time in his life and he was kidnapped just like that. The outside world was dangerous, he wanted to run back to his library as soon as possible and spend the rest of his life reading books.

He didn't want to owe someone a life debt. Moreover, this guy was a freak who challenged the authority of the heavens. He didn't want to be involved with this guy in any way.

"Raymond, leave him be." Raymond, who was just about to forc—ahem convince Egon to acknowledge the debt, heard Lyla's voice and turned around.

Lyla came near him and dumped a pile of gold coins on the ground from a spatial ring in her hand.

"Take this money instead, it was in my brother's ring."

"Haha! Good job." Raymond quickly stood up and dove into the pile of gold coins. Without waiting for a second he put them away in his pendant.

After that, he came back to where Egon was and squatted before him.

"Alright! I am feeling generous today, I will let you go if you sign a debt agreement of ten thousand gold coins."

"You! Didn't you just get a shit load of money from that ring, why are you still asking for more?"

Egon was on the brink of madness. He had never met a man so shameless that it was driving him crazy.

"Raymond! We don't have time for that. This place will soon become crowded, we need to move before that!"

Lyla hurriedly informed him, seeing as he was taking his sweet time trying to extort money from the poor guy.

"Damn! You are right! What if the authorities blame me for everything and ask me to pay for the damage? That will be a nightmare!" Raymond stood up wanting to run back to his inn.

But just as he was about to run, he looked down at Egom thoughtfully.

"What about him? He knows our faces!"

"Don't worry, I have a way to deal with him."

Lyla took out a yellowish-red pill from her ring and she willed shadows to crawl towards Egon's body. They held him in place and forcefully opened his mouth.

She threw the pill into his mouth that would make sure he forgot everything that happened there.

"Now, sleep."

As if spellbound by her voice, Egon closed his eyes, drifting off to dreamland.

"What was that pill?" Raymond asked curiously.

"It will erase his memories of the recent events and he will never be able to remember what happened!"

Lyla answered as she followed him towards the inn.
