"I didn't mean to be rude." Elowen whispered when Vincent looked away. The rumors were muddling him. He did not come here to insult her but spend time with her.
"Forget it, I will ask my mother to go alone." He stood up, she hastily held his hands and shook her head.
"No, I would go with them. I.. they.. I will fulfill my responsibilities." She spoke hastily when he kept staring at their entwined hands. Just then the door was opened again and Diana entered.
"Ahh, I did not know that the couple was spending time together. I would have knocked then." she grinned, not at all looking embarrassed but gleeful.
"Then, I will leave you two alone."
"There is nothing like that, mother. We were just talking." Vincent took a step back and Elowen lowered her head.
