When Ana woke up her eyes again, she found herself in the room. It was already dark. She blinked and looked away but… she felt weight on her arms and her waist.
Garrison was sitting on the chair and leaned on her hands, holding them tightly with his hands as if she would disappear at any moment. Even when he was asleep, his grip did not loosen. His eyes were closed and he looked exhausted. Rowan was sleeping in a sitting posture with his head on her waist as if it had fallen after being exhausted. They both looked exhausted but when she stirred, they sat up at once.
Opening their eyes, they stared at him as if they were looking at a ghost.
"Mother, is it you?" Rowan was the first to speak when she smiled at them. Garrison stood up abruptly, surprising them and before they knew it, he punched Ana and held her in a tight hug.
