Ana held Garrison's shirt tightly as if warning him to not ruin it.
She knew that he had always sided with the royal family, especially Meredith, the second princess. But did he not claim that he did not love her and they did not have an affair.
He even told her that he was interested in her, his wife. It was the time to prove it. He should support his wife.
She stared back into his eyes with intensity. Though a word did not leave her lips, her eyes said it all. If he took the side of the second princess, it would be the end of them.
But Garrison did not keep her gaze. He raised his head and looked at the princess for a second before meeting his majesty's gaze.
His son's, the princes, were nothing more than ducklings following their mother. They did not deserve his gaze and their haughty gaze was not even sympathizing, it was worth mocking.
