Emma opened her mouth to question but looked away instead. The way Ana's eyes flickered, Emma was sure that she would not like the answer.
"You should go and change your clothes. June will definitely come to check on you." 'Just leave already! Your gaze is making me uncomfortable.'
Emma had seen the widened eyes of the women she had killed. The teary eyes of the kids that were left behind and worried eyes of the kids in the orphanage when she visits them with marks on her body.
But she had never felt anything looking at all those gaze. What was in Ana's eyes that left her in shambles.
"Should I check the food too?" Ana looked away, calmness returning on her face when Emma sucked in a deep breath.
"No, the taste is too evident in other foods. It will only go well with tea." Ana nodded, she gave one last look to Emma before leaving the room and closing the door.
