Ana was running a hand in Rowan's hair. The child was already asleep but he was clutching her hands tightly as if he was afraid that she would disappear if he would let her go.
She sighed. How much the child had suffered from the hands of his majesty to make him this afraid.
And what did Garrison want to prove by forcing a child to be strong.
Ha! That bastard is using all of them as a pawn. For him, none of them matter.
Her heart sank for the child. She felt bad for him and hugged him tightly as if she wanted to assure him that she was here.
The child was deep asleep yet he felt her touch and hugged her back. She smiled softly at his antics.
The nanny opened the door and smiled. Her face softened as she noticed Rowan's face had finally gained colors.
"The child is looking much better." Ana nodded. She kissed his cheeks and ran a hand on them.
