When Ana opened her eyes, she was surprised to see it was already morning. She didn't realize when she really fell asleep in the carriage.
"I must have exhausted myself." she sighed and looked around. Magie was mixing something in a bowl. With the foul smell, Ana closed her eyes again.
She didn't want to taste that bitter liquid the moment she woke up. The physician must be taking revenge from her.
But she opened her eyes again and was surprised to not see Rowan there. She had thought he would come running. She did not want to accept, but she felt disappointment.
She heard the rustling of pages and tilted her head to see that man in her room. He was the one who sent her to the lion's den without warning her about the danger, yet he was here in the name of taking care of her.
