"Don't you think that hair accessory looks a bit dull?" The maid holding the diamond-studded hairband, attached with chains to secure her hair in curvy waves, paused.
"Did you not notice that even Princess Elowen was wearing a better hair accessory? Or do you believe I am weaker than her?" Meredith blinked her eyes softly as she gazed at the maid with an innocent look, but the maid knew better.
She released the heavy set, which featured forty small diamonds and one large diamond in the center, and retrieved another necklace adorned with rubies and pearls. It could be worn in both the hair and around the neck.
"What about this, Your Highness?" It was the prized possession of the queen, Meredith's mother. This set was particularly famous, as it had been a betrothal gift to the princess when she married Meredith's father.
