She tried to laugh it off again but his eyes told her that it was meaningless. So, she dropped the pretense at once.
She leaned on the chair and folded her legs while looking at him with mirth. Her fingers tapping the table rhythmically.
"Hmm, and why would you do that?" she asked, laughing, but this time her voice was cold and full of venom. "You think that I will believe you just because your little mouth spouts some truth. I am not that gullible." his eyes widened.
Stunned, it took him a few seconds to realize that he was staring at her with his mouth agape.
"If you are sure that I have ulterior motives, why are you speaking to me so informally? It hurt my pride." his hands went to his chest as he faked the pain but she knew better than the man only playing around.
But for some reason, she wanted to play that game. If he spouts a few more truths to gain her attention, it would be worth the trouble.
