Ana punched the pillow again. She was so frustrated to let her emotions control her.
"Foolish Ana! What were you expecting? That he would refuse. If he would have refused to be on the second floor, were you going to believe him?" She held the pillow tightly and cried.
At least he did not refuse her accusations. What other proof she needed to understand that he only loved Meredith. She was nothing but a cover!
She closed her eyes and the scenes from the night played in her mind again. She cursed as she sat up. How long would it take her to let go of her emotions? Was a lifetime not enough? Was she such a fool to cry for him for all her lifetimes?
"Madam." the door knocked, taking her attention. "Are you awake?"
Ana wiped her eyes and took a deep breath. It was so late at night. The maids had never disturbed her so late.
"What is it?" She asked when the door opened and two maids came in.
