Chapter 14 - His Strength Has Increased Again!

After the accident, the Wizard Tower started to prioritize patrol work, and Inspector General Alfred assigned more personnel to Peter.

This pleased Peter!

He arranged round-the-clock patrols with three people on duty each time, ensuring constant surveillance of the first underground floor.

Nothing could escape their watchful eyes!

Bruce also wanted to join in.

However, Peter rejected his request due to some previous incidents.

Peter believed that Bruce had some issues!

He suspected that Bruce had been influenced by Welch, so for safety reasons, Peter would never allow Bruce into the first underground floor!

On this day, Peter was interrogating a prisoner.

Soon, he heard a knock on the door.

Opening the door, he saw Leon standing there, one of the members of the patrol team.

"What's the matter, Leon?"

Peter asked.

He noticed that Leon seemed to have something on his mind.

So, Peter naturally wanted to find out what was going on with him.

"Well, it's like this. My father back home sent me a letter a few days ago, saying that my mother is critically ill and might not make it. Her last wish is to see me one more time. So, I would like to request a few days off. Is that okay?"

Leon asked nervously.

Clearly, he wasn't very comfortable asking for leave from Peter.

Upon hearing his words, Peter calmly replied, "What's wrong with that? Of course, it's no problem!"

"Oh, that's great!"

Leon suddenly became very excited.

"However, you must be careful on your journey. It's still dangerous outside."

Peter emphasized.

"Sure, don't worry. I'll be back soon."

Leon replied.

"No problem. Take your time at home. And I hope your mother recovers quickly!"

Peter waved his hand.

"I will definitely bring your blessings to her!"

Leon said happily.

Soon, he left.

With Leon on leave, Peter's life returned to its usual routine.

The following days were normal, and nothing unusual happened. Peter successfully raised his strength to Level 5 of apprentice wizard!

[Level: Apprentice Wizard, Level 5 (0/3200)]

Although the required magic power had doubled to 3200 from the previous 1600, Peter didn't mind.

Earning 200 magic power per hour meant that he could level up again in just sixteen hours!

His leveling speed was not slow, but Peter knew that without new and powerful prisoners coming in, his leveling speed would slow down as the demand for magic power increased.

For now, the only thing he could do was to increase his capture participation rate by interrogating prisoners.

A month passed, and Peter interrogated prisoners every few days to register new prisoners, increase his capture participation rate, and gain magic power.

Eventually, his magic power growth increased to 300 points per hour.

And his strength successfully advanced to level 1 of Junior Wizard!

"I've finally become a Junior Wizard!"

"And it's been less than two months since I entered the Wizard Tower. This is amazing!"

Peter was thrilled.

This meant that he had become a true wizard!

However, he noticed something equally astonishing.

That was because, after becoming a Junior Wizard, the amount of magic power required to level up increased significantly.

For example, to advance from Junior Level 1 Wizard to Junior Level 2 Wizard, it required 30,000 magic power!

Based on the progress of acquiring 300 magic power per hour, it would take a little over four days to reach Junior Level 2 Wizard.

As the levels increased, the required magic power would undoubtedly become even greater.

"It's like playing a game and getting past the beginner stage. Now it feels like the real beginning."

Peter thought to himself.

He believed that things were supposed to be this way.

Even if the leveling speed slowed down a bit, Peter didn't mind because he had plenty of time!

Peter didn't show his true strength to others.

Most people thought of him as just an apprentice wizard.

But because Peter worked diligently, the Inspector General valued him greatly. The Inspector General was pleased and promoted Peter to the position of Warden, in charge of managing the underground area.

This role didn't exist in the Wizard Tower before.

But due to Peter's increased strength and his diligent work, the Inspector General specially established this position in the Wizard Tower.

This made many people in the Wizard Tower envious.

Especially those like him who were lower-ranking wizards, such as Colot.

Previously, even though Peter had become a patrol captain, Colot still had an arrogant attitude toward him.

It was as if Peter was just his subordinate!

But now, things were different!

The current Peter could be considered equal to him.

Therefore, Colot's attitude toward Peter underwent a significant change.

He believed that Peter was progressing rapidly and had great prospects for the future. He thought it would be wise to curry favor with Peter early on.

That way, if Peter truly became a significant figure, he could also benefit from their relationship!

Peter, of course, could easily guess Colot's thoughts.

But he didn't care about any of that.

In his view, his only task was to constantly improve his own strength and become stronger.

That was all that mattered!

If there had to be anything else.

Peter felt that it was time for him to gradually venture into the deeper underground.

However, he also knew.

It wasn't something he could simply ask the higher-ups for and get approval.

After all, the deeper levels had stricter rules, and his current strength alone didn't qualify him to enter.

So, Peter didn't mention this matter to the higher-ups.

On this day, another new prisoner arrived. It was another high-ranking member from the organization where Oddssen was previously associated.

It wasn't until this moment that Peter understood how the Inspector General and the others had killed Oddssen.

They used a magical item!

Peter didn't know the name of that magical item, but he knew that it could extract a person's soul.

And it could directly access the memories.

They could search for the desired information from the person's memories!

In the end, that person's soul would be completely destroyed, never to be resurrected!

It was through this process that the Inspector General and the others obtained relevant information about the forces behind Oddssen.

This person was a member of the Elder Council of that organization. After being captured, he cursed and resisted, expressing confidence that his comrades would come to save him.
