Chapter 9 - Peter's Plan

Peter thought about it but ignored him.

He believed that these Dark Wizards were all liars and not worthy of trust.

Therefore, he only planned to bring Oddssen to the interrogation room.

This made Oddson unable to hold back!

His voice sounded a bit urgent as he immediately said to Peter, "I have a lot of money and treasures. As long as you help me deliver a message to someone, I can tell you the location of the treasure!"

As his words fell, Peter also stopped in his tracks.

Oddssen thought that his words might have had some effect.

So, he continued, "I know you must be someone who is not content with a mediocre life. I figured that out the moment I saw you."

"And this place has no future for you. Trust me, even if you work here until you're forty or fifty, at most, you'll end up like Colot, a mere supervisor. Apart from basic needs, you'll live under the rule of your superiors every day!"

"But if you get my money, it will be different. You can buy an estate with that money, marry a beautiful wife, have a few lively and adorable children, and live a worry-free life of wealth and luxury."

Oddssen believed that his words were extremely tempting.

After observing for these few days, he believed that Peter had come to the Wizard Tower just to secure his livelihood.

There were many people like that in the Wizard Tower!

That's why he used money and treasures to tempt Peter!

He believed there was no reason for Peter to refuse him!

However, the reality turned out to be beyond his expectations.

Peter simply ignored his words.

"Does this guy not like money?"

Oddssen wondered in his heart.

He pondered for a while and thought of something.

Quickly, Oddssen changed his approach and said, "Perhaps you don't want to be an ordinary estate owner. You can hand over this wealth to the authorities. For you, it would be a great achievement that would make you receive recognition from them, get promoted, become a supervisor like Colot, or even hold a higher position than him!"

However, Peter still ignored him.

This made Oddssen anxious!

He didn't want to get rich, and didn't want a promotion, so what did this person want?

But that didn't stump Oddssen.

He quickly thought of something else.

So, he changed his approach once again and said, "I know you have already acquired some basic magic skills. I can teach you many advanced magics, whether permitted magic or forbidden black magic."

"If you don't want to become a Dark Wizard pursued by the authorities, you can just learn the officially permitted magic. I can teach you all of it. How about that? It should definitely satisfy you, right?"

After finishing his words, Oddssen believed that Peter would definitely agree this time.

But the result he got was Peter once again ignoring him.

Oddssen felt extremely speechless. He thought.

"What on earth does this guy, Peter, want to do?"

"Is he deaf or something!"

At this point, Peter finally stopped what he was doing.

He looked at Oddssen, which ignited a glimmer of hope in Oddssen's heart.

"If it were someone else, perhaps they would have been persuaded by you. Unfortunately, I don't want to get rich, I don't want a promotion, and I don't want any of your magic. I just want to stay in the Wizard Tower and do my own thing."

Peter's tone was plain as he honestly expressed his thoughts.

But as Oddssen heard Peter's indifferent tone, he almost lost his temper!

This fellow...

He was simply an idiot!

He was an idiot that he had never seen in his life!

"You, you're truly an ignorant bumpkin, lacking ambition, beyond redemption! It serves you right to spend your whole life confined to the Wizard Tower, doing the lowliest of jobs, never achieving anything!"

Odssen couldn't suppress his anger any longer and unleashed all his fury upon Peter, venting without restraint.

But Peter remained indifferent, as if he hadn't heard a word from Oddssen.

Peter could simply flip through the Codex of All Realms and find the locations of the treasures Oddssen had hidden, based on the images.

So, if he wanted the treasures left by Oddssen, he didn't need to ask the man himself.

As for magic, as long as he stayed here, he could steadily acquire magical power from the prisoners to enhance himself.

And if the prisoners in the Wizard Tower were executed, he could directly extract the magic they possessed without even learning or worrying about it!

Therefore, these temptations from Oddssen held absolutely no attraction for Peter.

He even suspected that Oddssen's eagerness to make a deal with him was because the Inspector General might be planning to execute him.

After all this time, being unable to obtain the information needed from Oddssen, it was better to kill him than keep him around!

As for how the Inspector General planned to deal with Odssen, that was not something Peter needed to consider!

In that case, he could immediately obtain Odssen's magic, even if it was just one spell, it would still be enough to satisfy Peter.

Who knows if Oddssen had set a trap for him behind this seemingly enticing transaction?

Peter didn't want to take that risk!

But Peter also had his own plans.

He searched the Codex of All Realms and indeed found the hiding place of Oddssen's treasures, which made Peter reveal a triumphant smile.

Next, he brought Oddssen to the interrogation room.

Throughout the journey, Odssen ranted like a madman, incessantly cursing and hurling his most malicious words at Peter.

As a Dark Wizard, he might possess curse magic.

Unfortunately, he was currently in a sealed state. Those malicious curses were nothing more than foul language, causing dryness in his own mouth, and serving no purpose at all.

Arriving at the interrogation room, Peter truthfully reported the matter of Oddssen's hidden treasures, even disclosing the location.

This left Odssen dumbfounded!

"How do you know about my hiding place?"

He couldn't help but blurted out, forgetting the occasion.

"You revealed it in your sleep talking!"

Peter glanced at him.

"I had a habit of talking in my sleep?"

Oddssen could hardly believe it!

No wonder this guy was not swayed by his temptations!

Originally, he wanted to play a trick and get rid of this guy because his accomplices were at the hiding place. If this guy dared to go there, he would undoubtedly meet his doom!

But unexpectedly, he fell into Peter's trap!

This guy was extremely cunning!

The Inspector General, upon hearing Peter's report, appeared pleased and asked, "You reported this matter to me, and I am pleased. What reward do you want? I can grant you a level three magic!"

He knew that Peter had learned some basic magic and believed that Peter had some talent in magic.

However, Peter shook his head and replied, "I don't want magic. I want a promotion. I don't want to be a patroller anymore. I want to become a full-fledged wizard and even the captain of the patrol team!"
