Chapter 4 - Level Increase, Apprentice Wizard Level 2!

"Nice to see you, Inspector General!"

Peter immediately greeted Alfred.

Alfred, with his hands behind his back, nodded slightly in response to Peter's greeting.

After exchanging greetings, Peter stood silently on the side, not daring to leave without permission.

"Are you the new recruit, Peter?" Alfred finally spoke.

"Yes!"

Peter replied.

"Bring the Dark Wizard who was imprisoned yesterday to the interrogation room!"

Alfred commanded before turning around and leaving.

As Peter watched Alfred's retreating figure, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He could clearly sense the powerful aura emanating from the Inspector General. He was very cautious and dare not to even breathe too loudly in his presence.

"Why bring Oddssen to the interrogation room? Are they going to start interrogating him?"

Peter wondered.

But he knew it wasn't his place to question. The only thing he could do was follow Alfred's instructions.

And so, Peter arrived on the first underground floor. He escorted Oddssen out of the prison and into the interrogation room.

Inside the well-lit room, Alfred was already seated.

Taking advantage of the lighting, Peter finally got a clear look at Oddssen's appearance.

Under his disheveled and tangled long hair was an extremely handsome face.

Despite looking weak, his eyes emitted a sinister aura that hadn't diminished in the slightest.

Especially after seeing Alfred, that aura became even stronger!

Peter brought Oddssen in front of Alfred and then stepped aside.

He didn't leave the interrogation room because he would be responsible for returning Oddssen to the dungeon later.

"You old fool, we meet again!"

Oddssen glared at Alfred with a hoarse voice, filled with uncontrollable anger.

"Reveal the location of your organization's hideout, and I can spare you from punishment!"

Alfred didn't answer his words directly but stated his purpose.

Their organization?

Could it be that behind this Dark Wizard, there was another group?

"Do all these Dark Wizards enjoy consuming human blood like him?"

"It's truly terrifying!"

Peter secretly pondered as he listened to their conversation.

"So many Dark Wizards, how many horrific disasters had they caused!"

Fortunately, he now had a magic book. Otherwise, in such a world, he wouldn't even know how to survive!

"That's impossible!"

"Those who join our organization have absolute loyalty. You'll never get any information from me!"

Oddssen replied firmly.

"Swoosh!"

Alfred didn't say another word.

But he raised his hand.

Peter saw a white light shoot out from his fingertip.

In the blink of an eye, it struck Oddssen's heart!

"Ah..."

Oddssen cried out in agony, his face contorting instantly.

It was a Heart-Piercing Spell!

Peter recognized it. He had read about it in the library during his spare time. The Heart-Piercing Spell was a terrifying form of magic that caused the heart to experience excruciating pain as if it were being drilled through.

This was an advanced and cruel form of magic that was generally prohibited due to its nature.

Therefore, in the magic books Peter had seen, there were only descriptions of the characteristics of the Heart-Piercing Spell, but no detailed incantations.

He never expected that the seemingly amiable Inspector General Alfred possessed such a ruthless interrogation method!

Starting with the Heart-Piercing Spell!

Sweat poured down Oddssen's forehead due to the intense pain, wetting his hair and sticking it closely to his scalp.

But even in this state, he showed no intention of revealing any information about the organization behind him.

This made Alfred furrow his brow slightly.

"You won't speak?"

Alfred muttered softly.

Then, he waved his hand again.

Peter did not see anything special.

There was neither light nor magical power.

However, very quickly.

Peter noticed that something was wrong with Oddssen.

The expression on his face became increasingly grim, and his eyes widened as if he could suffocate at any moment.

What's wrong with him?

He suffocated!

Oxygen Deprivation!

A term quickly came to Peter's mind.

This spell could deprive the victim of oxygen, whether it ultimately led to suffocation and death or kept the victim in the agonizing state of near-asphyxiation, entirely depended on the mood of the spellcaster!

Another cruel magic!

Was this what interrogation looked like?

It's too cruel!

The magic used was something like Heart-Piercing Spell and Oxygen Deprivation. They were all about torturing people with magic.

Peter felt speechless.

He felt like he was dealing with an even darker wizard!

However, Oddssen still showed no intention of speaking. He was truly tough!

Seeing that Oddssen still wouldn't speak, Alfred waved his hand again.

"Hoo, hoo, hoo..."

Only then did Oddssen recover.

He greedily breathed in the fresh air, his fierce expression showing no signs of diminishing.

"Don't think that by not saying a word, you can escape punishment!"

"We will do everything to capture your accomplices. We will keep you imprisoned here...waiting for more interrogation and punishment!"

"No Dark Wizard can escape from here, and no Dark Wizard can endure until the end. We have plenty of time and patience!"

Alfred stood up.

He glanced at Peter and said, "Take him back and lock him up!"

"Yes, sir!"

Peter replied.

...

[Prisoner: Oddssen]

[Infamy Level: Three stars]

[Strength: Advanced Wizard, Level Three]

[Status: Imprisoned]

[Capture Participation Rate: 2%]

[Reward: 12 magic power/hour]

...

He took him back.

Just then, a voice echoed in Peter's mind.

He discovered that his capture participation rate had increased.

Correspondingly, the reward had also increased slightly.

Though it was just a little, it was enough to make Peter feel delighted!

"This means that as long as I participate in the capture and interrogation work, I can receive rewards from every prisoner who passes through my hands!"

Peter had previously felt regretful.

In this underground area, there were so many powerful prisoners, but he couldn't gain any rewards from them.

Now it seemed that wasn't the case!

...

Nightfall.

Peter had successfully accumulated 200 magic power.

To level up!

Without hesitation, he upgraded his level to apprentice wizard level 2!

At the same time, he realized that he had automatically learned some basic magic spells he had previously read in the library.

Such as the Levitation Spell!

This was fantastic!

If he could learn those advanced magic spells, wouldn't he be able to have more power in this Wizard Tower?

However, after giving it some thought, Peter reminded himself not to rush.

Only when his strength became powerful enough could he survive in this Wizard Tower where strong opponents and dangers coexisted!
