The slingshot, as a kind of secret weapon, is not a toy made of wire and rubber bands.
It is also a variant of a bow, with a stem made of bamboo, lined with ox horn, and bound with ox tendon, reaching a length of 18 fists for the practitioner. The bowstring is made from silk, deer sinew, and assorted human hair. An ordinary bow with a draw weight of two and a half "li" is sufficient to harm a person. There are three types of ammunition for launching:
(1) Mud pellets: made by kneading clay and glue into a spherical shape
(2) Pagoda tree sand pellets: made by mixing powder from the seeds of the black locust tree, plaster, and fine iron sand
(3) Metal pellets: cast from copper, iron, or lead
