In the midst of this lively atmosphere, a man dressed in brocade stood up. He slapped the table and exclaimed loudly, "I am extremely pleased to be gathered here with everyone today. Let's toast together to these splendid moments!" The crowd responded in kind, their glasses clinking with a crisp sound.
"If you ask me, the reason these moments are splendid and we can drink fine wine and speak freely without a care in the world is all because of peace!"
The man in brocade and his tablemates finished their drinks and, with a smile, he asked those seated with him, "You agree, don't you? Isn't that the reason?"
"Exactly, can there be good days without peace in the land? There's an old saying, better to be a dog in peace than a human in chaos. Who wouldn't want to live when the world is at peace? Who, aside from someone with a screw loose, would willingly take to war and bring strife upon the world?"
