The Great Elder looked at the performances of his seven junior siblings with a touch of disappointment yet still spoke with a booming voice, "As elders of the overseas mystical realm, none of us eight have managed to contract the primary mystical beast. Do I really need to explain why?"
"How is it that, in the beginning, when there were no beast contracts, we were full of ambition, determined to forcefully contract the dragon species of the sea, only to fail repeatedly? Instead, we inadvertently facilitated the growth of this dragon species to its current state through our baits."
"So much so that now, even our sect is utterly helpless. Do you really intend to shirk responsibility at this time and abandon it?"
The Great Elder's eyes flashed with sharp light, his words goading them, which finally caused some emotional ripples in the other seven elders.
