As night fell, Peng Zhi was so hungry he had no strength left and felt bouts of stomach pain.
He looked at the time; it was already well past ten at night and he had not seen his wife all day. The meal that she usually brought him every noon was nowhere to be seen today.
Hunger made Peng Zhi agitated, and it raised a sense of ominous premonition in his heart.
He hadn't seen her for a whole day.
He wanted to get up and go outside to find out, but thinking of his wife's recent behavior, he suddenly didn't have the courage to push open the bedroom door.
