After cleaning up, Pei Xingcheng and Miss Ghost returned to the waiting room which felt much calmer than before. Pei Qinshan and Lu Jin were sitting quietly together. The tension that had filled the air earlier seemed to have faded, and Lu Jin wasn't glaring anymore.
He just mostly ignored Pei Xingcheng, which was a huge improvement!
Pei Xingcheng glanced at his older brother, who gave him a small nod, letting him know everything was okay for now. The real focus was still on Lu Sisi. Her surgery had been going on for what felt like forever.
Everyone waited in tense silence, four long hours dragging by.
Finally, the door opened and the doctor stepped out. The moment Lu Jin saw him, he was on his feet, rushing towards him, his eyes filled with worry. "Doctor, how's my sister? Is she okay? Can I see her?" he asked, his voice trembling.
The doctor looked at him kindly. "The operation was successful. Miss Lu is out of danger."
