Lu Jin sat in front of Zhang Sui, his heart racing faster than he could control. Every second spent looking at this man filled him with dread, as visions of his sister being pulled into a world of danger danced in his mind.
In sharp contrast, Zhang Sui appeared perfectly at ease. With a smile playing on his lips, he idly twirled a black onyx ring around his finger, almost as if he were at a casual gathering rather than in a tense confrontation.
After what felt like an eternity of silence, Lu Jin finally broke through his hesitation. "I don't think this is a good idea," he said, his voice shaky but firm. "My sister has already been through so much. I just can't bear to see her suffer more."
Zhang Sui looked up, an amused smile revealing his confidence. "I'm only trying to help her," he replied lightly.
