The morning sun filtered gently through the curtains as Lu Sisi slowly opened her eyes. Confused, she took a moment to recognize her surroundings. She was back in her room. As she tried to sit up, a pair of strong hands supported her, and she looked up to find her brother, Lu Jin, beside her.
"Brother…" she whispered weakly.
"Hmm..." he nodded softly, pouring a glass of water and carefully helping her drink. She gratefully accepted his help. She opened her mouth to speak but he didn't look at her. After putting the glass aside, he arranged a pillow behind her back for support.
As memories of last night flooded her mind, guilt twisted in her stomach as she recalled her reckless and crazy behavior. She glanced at her brother, wondering how to begin explaining her behavior.
"Brother, I…" she started, hesitating as she searched for the right words.
"What would you like for breakfast?" he cut in, diverting the conversation.
