WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
A small sound echoed through the empty space, causing Pei Xingcheng's heart to race uncontrollably. He felt a chill run down his spine, and his breath caught in his throat.
His hand shook as he clutched the wooden broomstick tightly, his knuckles turning white from the pressure. His eyes scanned the dimly lit hallway, searching for any signs of movement or danger.
"What... umm... what was that?" he asked nervously. His voice was barely above a whisper, and he sounded like a scared child.
"Just the wind, idiot," Miss Ghost snorted disdainfully.
Pei Xingcheng felt a pang of fear mixed with embarrassment at her words. "Dammit! What kind of cursed evil hallway is this? Even normal wind sounds like a banshee's laugh," he muttered under his breath.
"You'll be fine," Miss Ghost shrugged her shoulder. "Stop worrying and putting images in your head."
