Adrienne was in the middle of a call when Myrtle worriedly knocked on her office door. Adrienne ended the call with a few words before focusing on Myrtle.
"What's wrong, Myrtle? Did something happen?" She asked with concern in her voice.
"There are detectives outside, Addie. They said they wanted to have a word with you." Myrtle bit her lip. "What is it about this time?"
Adrienne shook her head. She also had no idea why the detectives were there. She wondered if they were seeking her out about her father.
"Let them in," she told Myrtle. "We can't let them wait for too long."
Myrtle moved immediately and opened the door, allowing the detectives to enter Adrienne's office. One was a woman in her early forties, while the other was a man who appeared to be in his late twenties.
"Good afternoon, officers. May I help you with something?" Adrienne asked before asking Myrtle politely to bring some refreshments for their guests.
