The rain continued to pour outside, but Adrienne felt her mood drastically improve once she revealed her tragic past life to her husband. She knew it was a lot for him to take in and that he would need time to accept the truth.
Adrienne gave him the rest of the afternoon to give it some thought. She pretended everything was alright and joined him and his siblings for dinner, but she occasionally threw curious glances at Lennox. Lennox remained the same, grinning at her and holding her hand beneath the table as they listened to Noah's story.
Once they were ready to retire for the night, Adrienne hesitated to bring up the issue. Lennox closed the book he was reading and gestured to her to join him on the bed, patting the space on his right.
"Are you still worried?" He asked as Adrienne sat next to him on the bed.
"Don't you find it disappointing? I know I've been foolish before." Adrienne asked in return.
