When traders travelled across the Great Steppe, they often encountered tribes of herders who had inhabited those grasslands for thousands of years.
These tribes lived as nomads, constantly moving from place to place across the dry wilderness in search of ample grass and water to feed their sheep, goats, and horses.
The steppe's earliest inhabitants may have arrived more than one hundred thousand years ago. They were primarily hunters and gatherers who lived off the land and followed herds of animals that provided their source of food.
Over time, these early peoples learned to tame some animals, like cattle and horses, and raised them for meat and dairy products as well as to work and provide a means of transportation.
Over time, harsh conditions and isolation helped convince these nomads to form small groups, or tribes, that could team up to hunt and protect themselves against rivals.
While these tribes shared many characteristics, they still spoke different languages and viewed each other more as threats than as people with a shared lifestyle.
And it is because of this, they keep fighting for land and bounty.
Aeryon thought of this before he enters the battle. The Great Steppe must be united. From the moment, he got the system he thought of this
His vision is higher than ordinary people. And because he knows it could be done, that he has such ambition.
Aeryon believe that even if he does not have such system, such ambition would always grow naturally in his heart
But right now, as he charges through hundreds of men, he did not have such thought. His body is swivelling and dodging and running, evading all attacks.
He swings his sword and each swing takes a head or a limb. He roars like a tiger and right now, there is no logical thought at all. Only the taste of blood at the edge of his mouth and the heaviness of the sword.
The blood he spits out, the sword he wielded.
No matter how heavy the sword is, he did not release his grip and he keep swinging. By now, fifty people has died under his hand
But surrounded by hundreds of men, it does feel like there is an endless people waiting to kill him.
It was at this moment, when he is surrounded by hundreds of men, that a ruckus started from the left side.
Aeryon smiles but he did not stop his movement, he keeps killing people even as the ruckus become louder.
On the left side, Belarion with thirty men rides their horses and with excellent archery skill they shot arrow toward the back of those horse riders.
Those horse riders were all focused on making sure that they box Aeryon in one direction. They did not expect that they would be attack from behind.
'Turn!' even as they turn to try to meet with Belarion forces, Belarion forces quickly retreated. But before they manage to regroup back, there I Aeryon with his sword, tearing into the horse riders like a lion pouncing into its prey
'Hahaha!' he laughed as he took the head of the leader of this horse riders.
Then riding on the horse, he began killing a few dozen men, swinging his sword and throwing the spears that he managed to get from the fallen warriors.
Once again arrows of rain descended on him and once again Aeryon horse become a porcupine.
Bu just like before, Aeryon once again escapes the attack, once gain rolling on the ground and once again fighting on foot. Belarion harassed the horseriders each time they managed to box Aeryon in.
Mayeux then also makes his move. Twenty men give or take shoot flame arrows all over the settlements. The other warriors and horse riders chase and Mayeux run.
The more that Xeqani send people to capture Belarion and Mayeux, the easier it is for Aeryon as he keeps killing and breaking through layers of the encirclement around him.
The fire was quickly put out but the hit and run tactic by Belarion and Mayeux is very effective.
It is night and, in such situation, the harder it is to hit the target. But for Mayeux and Belarion, it does not matter.
Because these people are clumped together and they are many, each time they release their arrow, the arrow would hit a target
There is only one man that is attacking the tribe but there is hundred of men trying to kill one person.
Everyone thought it would be eays to get the ehad of this young man.
So, even though they could give space to each other, thy did not an the area to kill Aeryon become narrow.
It is sued by Aeryon with great effect, killing dozens of people in a matter of minute, his entire body is now drenched with blood.
As for the warriors they rushed toward him with anger.
This is unlike the war between tribes. If this is a war between two opposing forces those horse archers would not hesitate to rain down arrows on the position, not caring whether the warriors die or not.
But, to do such thing, and demoralized their own warrior just to kill one person does not seem profitable even in the minds of the horse archers
Aeryon had experienced killing before.
But none so intense like he is now. Before he had killed only a dozen people before the fighting stop. This time, it is not like that. This time, it is hundreds of people and he is approaching that number now.
Those who fought with Aeryon in the front line could not help but wanting to flee.
He is almost like a meat grinder.
Aeryon is now red in the eyes and continued to chase the soldiers and kill everyone that he sees.
The arrows seems to avoid him and none of the weapon could touch him. Instead, the sword on his hand keeps reaping lives
Most people when they are being surrounded would be dead in a matter of a few breath
But, Aeryon sees to break this logic., Was it they that looking at him as a prey or is it him looking at them like they were prey?
Aeryon is halfway through. On the rear Belarion and Mayeux would sometimes appears and harass the rear before once again retreating to the dark. Each time they did that, a gap would open and Aeron would utilize that gap
By now, half an hour had passed. The moon that once so prominently feature above their heads could no longer be seen as it approaches dawn.
The screams and shouts however still echo and the sound is only getting louder and more desperate.
By now, two hundred men had bene sacrificed to Aeryon. By now, there is no doubt in everyone mind that Aeryon might be someone who possess great innate strength, born with the power of a bull and could defeat hundreds of men alone.
But, even these kinds of people have a limit. They would get exhausted and they could be killed with enough weapon being stick onto them. But, Aeryon not only kills beautifully, he also dodges very beautifully
He looked at the warriors in front of him and look at the warriors behind him. Some of them was so deterred by his gaze that they gulped in fear.
The distance separating him from Xeqani seems far but to him, no matter how far it is, he would get there
He shouted
'Xeqani, tonight is the night I would take your head! If you are a man, face me in battle!' Aeryon shouted and his shout echoes all over the entire settlements, bellowing like some kind of ancient beast.
Aeryon had gained enough prestige by killing so many people by himself. So, he simply wanted to end the battle
But he also knows that if Xeqani is a smart person, he would not accept his challenge.
And to him, whether he accepts the challenge or not doesn't matter. It is simply to beautify the story he wanted to craft
Finished speaking, he once again throws himself to the battle.
The entire settlements of the Xewa tribe are like a dragon pond and a tiger den
Trying to save Aeryon in the middle of a closed encirclement is almost impossible.
Belarion did not want to agree with his rother plans which he deemed crazy and Mayeux deem impossible.
But they followed him in the end, and it create this weird battle.
One person is facing hundreds of people while Belarion and Mayeux commanding only a few dozen men harassed the rear, providing simply help but a goo enough help that one could not kill a single person.
Half an hour passes and one should be exhausted by this point of time
and even the soldiers that encircles Aeryon is exhausted.
But the target himself is not tired and seem to have the energy to fight till morning
A hundred, two hundred, three hundred.
By now, three hundred men had been killed by Aeryon alone.
There is also the harassing attack by Belarion and Mayeux, the fires that needs to be extinguish every half an hour when Mayeux come and shoots fire arrow.
Dawn is about to break and the killing did not stop.
The once dense encirclement is now thin and have many gaps.
Rivers of blood flows from the area of the battlefield, flowing to the settlements, the people of the settlements some, have already run away in fear and those who still stay hoped that the warriors could kill Aeryon.
But that person is still there, hacking people like some kind of demon that claw himself out from Hell.
Xeqani face that once full of confidence is now solemn and hard. The eyes is cold and he still stand on his horse.
But his eyes are wavering a bit.
The distance between him and Aeryon seem to have become closer and closer.
Everyone already knows where Aeryon is heading and where he is inching towards.
But this distance should not have bene able to be traversed by a single man when facing hundreds of men.
But Aeryon is slowly making the impossible possible.
Xeqani look at the battle that is still continuing without any signs of stopping and then he looks toward the north.
He semes to eb waiting for something. Not long after, a messenger came and quickly relay the news and hearing the news Xeqani face turns red
'What is he waiting for!' right now, there is anger in Xeqani heart.
He looks toward the north with his eyes full of fiery ager.
On the north side of the settlements, far away from the camp and the battle, there is hundreds of men from the Utgard tribe.
Precisely it was four hundred men. Waqu had organized these men to come to this side of the area and regroup with garron main force.
Waqu look at the sky and he could see that it would not be long now before dawn breaks.
Then he looks at Garron and spoke
'is it time?'
Garron smiles
Waqu had already deduced his sworn brother plots.
Before it was not obvious. But when the messenger from Xeqani came ordering him to assist his force to kill Aeryon, garron delayed.
And from then one, Waqu already had an inkling of what his sworn brother is planning to do.
Garron look at the sky, smiles and spoke
'It is time' and he laughed. And since the Viper laugh, it is time for someone to get bitten
