Chapter 116 - Help Me

"HAHAHA!" The loud crazed laughter echoed in the empty bunker. "You think petty tricks would save you?" The female voice was a mixture of high-pitch and something else.

It was Hana who looked very different from her previous look.

Gone was the petite girl who looked like she needed protection. Her looks were now on the sinister side as her long hair was painted with blood and her eyes were sharp with killing intent. She smiled eerily. It was a smile that would make anyone feel goosebumps all over their body.

She looked like a straight out bitchy villain from any book available. It was hard to think it was the Hana that Miya once knew.

Although they didn't interact that much, Miya's image of Hana before was that of someone who was nice to everyone and took care of their wellbeing. She was good at calming the crowd. Was it all just in her imagination?

She gritted her teeth before turning to glance at the unconscious Duke. He was still not outside his skill leaving her no choice but to use her skill to erase both their presences. It was to buy time hoping for reinforcement.

Even though she had trained a lot, as she looked back towards Hana, she knew she was no match for her.

Hana might look like just a bitchy villain, but she was far stronger than Miya.

She didn't know what she went through. Before, Miya would be confident in beating Hana. But after she joined the Savior Gang, Hana became stronger than anyone in their group. Even Ross would be defeated. The only way they could beat her was to team up.

For her, Savior Gang was a nemesis they should avoid, more than the Dragon Rider's group.

Although Dragon Rider's capture humans to make them their slaves, they don't kill unnecessarily. The Savior Gang on the other hand wanted nothing but to kill. As long as you want to kill, you are welcome to join them.

Which was the reason they were dangerous.

They don't care about comradery or family.

All they wanted was to kill.

Hana was no different.

*Is the reason they grew stronger because of killing?*

She didn't know. They had little information about the Savior Gang. The truth is, they did their best to avoid them.

All their members had one or more trauma encountering the group. No one wanted to be near those psychopaths.

It was also the reason why Miya was alone right now to protect Duke. Everyone was so scared they didn't even have any fighting will to go against the Savior Gang.

It was pitiful. But it was the reality.

They did their best to lift everyone's spirit. Yet, it was not enough. How could they lift another's spirit when they themselves think hope is just a bleak stupidity? All they could do to survive was strengthen themselves.

There was no hope.

The only one everyone was looking forward to was the implementation of the Forum that Duke was making.

To think it would end up with confrontation with the Savior Gang.

"Hahaha~ how long would you hide? Aaahhh! What are you doing?! This prey is mine!" Hana shouted when one of the Savior Gang started to move forward.

"B-but… I wanted to have fun too!"

"Shhh! If you don't want me to send you back to death, just guard outside!" There was a trace of laughter and threat in her voice. It was weird to even think it was possible to do so.

The member grimaced and stepped back. "Bitch–" but before he could even say anything else, his head dropped down separately from his body.

Miya felt a fluctuation of emotion as she saw how Hana easily harvested someone's life without bat an eye. It was like what she did was the only natural thing to do.

"Ah~ ahhhh! Why did you have to say that? Oh, well, see you next time, I guess? Don't act like a bastard around a high member, okay~? Hahaha!" Hana's high pitch voice mixed with something else echoed once more in the empty bunker.

*She had really gone crazy… she didn't even blink when she killed her subordinate.*

Miya felt disgusted with her. However, she knew that she couldn't be careless just because she was enraged with Hana's behavior. She was not stupid to think she was invisible just because she had survived this long.

She knew her limitations. And being overconfident or stupid could lead to her death here. And with her death, Duke would be in grave danger.

*Please… anyone… we can't lose Duke here… please, come.*

***

While Miya was hiding her presence, Caelus had reached the underground bunker thanks to Sanctuary's guidance.

Even when Miya had used her skill to hide her presence, it was useless to Sanctuary's search function. It was simply because her Life Force signature was something she couldn't erase.

Caelus stopped in his tracks as he heard a creepy laughter. He felt it was familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

*Hana…?*

He was unsure. There was something different in the female voice.

He carefully moved forward as he didn't stop to think.

*Wandering Soul! There's a presence of Wandering Soul! There's a lot of them!*

Being familiar with the Wandering Soul, that was the first thought he had as he froze in his spot. Although there was the presence of Wandering Soul, there was also something different. However, having encountered something familiar, he could only think of one thing.

*Wandering Soul in a living body…*

It was the same presence he felt from the one who self-destructed inside the Sanctuary Shelter.

Thinking of that, he activated his Qi Sight while still covering his tracks. He almost lost control of himself when he saw that everyone inside the underground bunker he could see had Wandering Soul inside them.

The corruption was too deep that the living body was actually integrated with the corrupted Soul. And he noticed how he couldn't even find a trace of the real owner's soul. It was as if…

*The Wandering Soul had eaten the owner's soul…*

He felt sick when he thought of that possibility. If that was true, then anyone who had their Soul eaten would cease to exist. The soul that was eaten won't be able to enter the pool of reincarnation.

They wouldn't be able to reincarnate…

They won't be given a second chance.

They would really cease to exist. Never to be reborn again.

He felt those poor souls were unfortunate because the Wandering Souls could still be cleansed and they could still go through reincarnation even after all they've done.

He really felt sick at the unfairness. He could only wish he was wrong. That what he was thinking was just nothing but his negative mind playing games.

*What should I do… I'm being consumed by my rage. I want to eradicate them instead of just ferrying them.*

He forcefully shut his eyes as he tried to calm himself down.

The monster inside him was screaming for him to destroy this bullshit Wandering Soul. That they don't deserve a second chance. Why should they deserve a second chance when they have eaten someone else's soul?

They had deprived others of a second chance…

Why?

Why should he save them?

Why should he just ferry them?

Yet, he knew judging them was not up to him. He was no God. He was only a human being.

As he opened his eyes, he had made his decision.

People might think of him as a hypocrite for choosing this, however, for him, it was the best choice.

He chose to ferry the Wandering Souls.
