"W-woow…"

Caelus inhaled sharply seeing the view as he entered Sanctuary Shelter. It was very different from before. It felt like an overhaul was made.

From the ghost city to a lively city.

It was a good place even when he was the only person there. But it was too lonely. It would be less lonely if it even had ghosts around the city, but there was none. There was only him and Sanctuary.

However, now, everything is different.

The lonely streets, alleys and houses were full of life.

All the vacant houses turned into residency. There were even clothes hanging outdoors and kids playing around.

"Haha! Tag!"

"Hey! That's cheating! No use of skills!"

"What! It's part of me now!"

The laughter of kids echoed but it sounded just like any background noise in a lively community. It was being topped with the noise of the busy sellers and buyers.

The empty stalls were now a bustling market with many things being sold. Different items was being displayed in each stall. Everyone had their own attraction and specialty. People found it easy to look for what they wanted.

"We're selling limited low-grade potions!"

"Butchering service is now up! Please line up and register. We would give you an estimate of when you can get your items back on the reception!"

There were many more items being sold. Some stalls didn't shout but had a long crowd in them. Because he was curious, he looked over and was surprised to see that it was weaponry. All the weapons presented were glowing.

"They must be special weapons…" He uttered just guessing.

[You are right, Master. They are enhanced items that have one time use skill. You can say it's definitely a lifesaver against the Dragon Riders lurking outside.]

"They are amazing. They did this within just four weeks when I'm gone."

[Four weeks? You've been gone for eight weeks, Master Sho.]

"W-what?!" It was good that he was covering his voice with Qi so that people won't hear him, or else they would think he was crazy talking with himself.

[You've been gone eight weeks. What's wrong, Master?]

He didn't think of it before. He just realized it now. Zones have different time zones.

How could he miss that detail? Didn't that happen when they entered murlocs' Zone? Also when they were in Forest of Eternity and entered the Misdirection Maze, there was a clear time difference.

Because he was so out of his mind with his inner struggle, he didn't think about that crucial detail up to now. He thought he was just gone for one month, but two months had actually passed.

He had let his guard down knowing that the Super Phenomena didn't affect the time of Earth. That they still had their twenty-four hours.

He dejectedly let out a sigh.

*I need to get myself together. I now have my Mantra. I would kill if needed. But I also have to take note of the changes that are happening to the world. I need to know the laws and new laws that need to be taken into account.*

*This is the first I should remember. There are time differences in Zones. There's a huge time difference for Common and Hidden Zones. For the Shelter and Safe Zones, I'm still not sure.*

"Let me put The Prophet in a safe place before I explore the place, Sanctuary."

[I've prepared the safe room. It's sealed and only you and I can open it. I've sent you the way.]

Caelus nodded and thanked Sanctuary as he headed and put down The Prophet in the secure room Sanctuary had prepared. He surveyed the room and was satisfied with the tight security. The room was laced with complicated Mana structure one could already call it spell. However, without prior knowledge, Caelus could not be certain.

[Master, there would be a meeting in the Council, do you want to participate? I would inform everyone.]

"Hm? Council?" He commented as he left the room behind. He knew only time could tell if The Prophet would wake up.

[The Founders established a Council after some contemplation. As one of them stated, there are different nationalities, each one needs a representative. Then, as many people were elected from different groups, the Council currently has eighteen members.]

"Interesting… hm. But, no. Don't inform anyone, yet. I don't want them to make a fuss. I also wanted to look around. It's amazing to see the changes those three had made."

[Four, Master.]

"Hm? Four?"

[Even Akihiko helped a bit.]

He was surprised and ashamed at the same time. He kept forgetting the brat even when Caelus was usually keen with details. "R-really, that brat?"

[Yes, he implemented laws that could help all minors around.]

"Huh?"

[It's about how they could retaliate and report anyone who would bully them, even if it's their parents. Any kid, children are entitled to separation from their parents. They would be taken care of by the Sanctuary until they are grown up.]

"What?"

[After some parents started abusing their kids making them work, Akihiko proposed a law that would protect the children. After some polishing with the Founders, Protection for Children's Law was established.]

"W-wow…"

He was really shocked. It was a decent law. Kids in this apocalypse would mature faster. They should be considered adults. And he knew that the world is not rainbow colored. It was not a walk in a park especially for childrens who could be weaker than most adults. They could be easily taken advantage of. Even by their own parents.

But he was surprised the idea came from a middle school kid.

No. It might be more appropriate that the idea could only come from a kid… a kid who saw the darkness of the world. Did Akihiko get abused by his parents?

But he could only think about it. He was not that close with the kid. For a matter of fact, the kid even seemed to hate him.

"W-well… let's not talk about laws for now. A-aren't I excluded from that? H-hahaha."

[Master, as Gouki and Asahi stated, law should be followed especially for someone who is considered higher up or someone in power so that everyone would follow and no corruption would be made.]

He couldn't even fake a smile after hearing what Sanctuary said. He felt sweat in his forehead thinking of things he needed to remember. It is easy to memorize thanks to the original Sho's great memory. But him remembering it to heart was another matter altogether. Even when he racked up his brain, he would still need time to remember everything.

His high Intelligence and Wisdom didn't help at all.

"Uhh… I-I'll tour around first. H-hahaha."

[Master, you are showing signs of avoiding the issue…]

"H-hey, what the damn are you learning about." He pouted as he walked faster. He really wanted to shake off Sanctuary but that was impossible.

"Wow…"

He stopped dead on track when he saw the massive field of abundant wheat.

"This…"

[Are you that amazed, Master? This is the work of two farmers we've got.]

"Amazing."

[However…]

"However, what? Nevermind, maybe it's better if I look into it myself." He felt excited. Who can blame him? He had been in dry land or corrupted land, there's also some forest here and there, but he didn't see land that had as much wheat as eyes could see.

He had once seen the empty field before on the castle the day he woke up here at Sanctuary Shelter, but this kind of scene was different.

It felt like the shelter became a place where one could live. Where anyone could survive the nightmarish hell outside. It was like creating an oasis in the desert. A paradise that everyone needed right now.

He was right in naming Sanctuary. They had successfully created their own sanctuary.

"Ah? A guest? This is a rare occasion."

"Hi, sorry for the bother." He greeted the old lady. She must be in her fifties, but he couldn't be sure as her face was being covered by a wide brim hat that farmers usually use. The only sign of age he could see right now was her wrinkled skin and gray hair. Her face was also covered with cloth, maybe to avoid dust?

He was not really sure but the blurred image of his parents surfaced in his mind and knew it was the usual outfit of farmers.

"Haha! Young man, you're no bother at all. It's rare to see anyone in the field at all. And rarer to have someone who knows our language!" an old man's voice came in his back.

He immediately looked back and slightly bowed. "Hi, I'm Sho Chad. I'm just new to the area and I saw this abundant field. I can't help but want to look at it more."

"Oh! A newbie! Haha! Are you perhaps hungry?"

"Hon, where's your manners? You haven't even introduced yourself yet! Hey, young man, I'm Jessica and this is Eugene. You can have a snack with us. Just in time, we are almost on our siesta time."

"Yes, we usually have excess food around. Come on in."

Caelus could not help but smile as the old lady started dragging him towards the nearby house.

For some reason, he felt warm inside.
