Caelus flinched with the call of master.
"Lost Art?"
[Because it's a Lost Art, there's almost no detail about it now.]
[However, there's a famous legend that has been going around.]
[Once upon a time, there was an emperor who created an Art that could be used by any being. Any being who practices this Art could upgrade themselves by knowing oneself.
[The emperor who created the Lost Art was very famous. He was kind, benevolent, however, he didn't hastily teach the Art to just anyone. They had to pass his test. However, even when people passed the test, they were still unable to learn the Lost Art.
[That's when the rumor spread that the emperor didn't want to teach anyone about the said Art.]
[Overcome by greed many tried to get a hold of the art, using any means necessary.]
[It was from simple stealing to overblown war.]
[On the peak of war when people subdued the emperor, the emperor still refused to give the Lost Art. He cursed everyone who betrayed him and killed himself. The emperor stated that only the worthy would learn it. But as time passed by, no one still managed to learn it.
[Even the name of the art was lost with time.]
"Who was the emperor? How long has it been since the emperor said that?"
[I'm sorry, Master Sho, I don't have any spare Mana to use to research on the answer. I only know this because the legend was known to almost everyone in the Zones. It doesn't cost any Mana.]
Caelus' face wrinkled with disappointment. "Maybe I would be lucky to find it?" He joked, hoping it would come true.
[Master, you don't need to be just lucky. You also need to be worthy.]
With that Caelus heard a "bzz" sound in his head before he release a loud laugh.
*It seems like Sanctuary is slowly copying me! Feels like I'm not just talking to AI anymore. The Core Essence of shelter does grow.* He was amused realizing Sanctuary's joke.
Well, he kinda liked how Sanctuary adapted. Because she is the only one who he could talk to right now, talking to someone almost human was better for Caelus.
Unlike the System who would just answer him depending on his Rank and most of the time robotic, Sanctuary was slowly becoming lively as days passed by.
He must admit, he was lonely.
After all, what he experienced since he came here was so gruesome it's even questionable how he was still sane. He craved for other people to be around him. To persuade him that there was still hope to make everything better. That there is something to look forward to.
There were also times when he felt the nightmares were too real and if he accepted them as real, he would have a mental breakdown. Although he had to admit, when he had a good dream, it was really good that he was tearful in happiness.
To be honest, it felt like his dreams were becoming a test that was telling him to get ready for anything related to his past. That once he learned about his past, he should be strong enough to handle everything.
Trusting his instinct, he knew it was highly likely to be true.
Every dream he had contained just the right amount of details for him to not break down. Even the faces of the people were blurred though he knew them with his feelings. It felt like if he saw the faces of those he used to cherish, all memories would flood into him.
It was also the reason he decided to go with the flow for now and wait for him to reach Tanzanite Rank before accessing his memories or anything related to it.
That aside, he was actually fearful of the real him who was emotionless. It was very different from him right now.
*How do I say this…?*
It was like someone who was so numb that even getting stabbed wouldn't hurt anymore, although he still could feel it, there was no pain. It was like he became an emotionless monster inside a human shell.
He could eat, but not taste anything. He could smell, but not appreciate the smell. He could hear, but all he could hear was danger. He could feel, but he chose to not feel any pain.
It was something he didn't want to become.
He sighed.
No point thinking about it now.
*I wonder how sane I really am right now. Maybe I should invest in Mental skills? It won't be good if the Mental Barrier that had been upgraded to Memories would suddenly stop working at a crucial time.*
*Ahhh! I don't even have any GP to think about it… I should just look into what Sanctuary had told me.*
*Overview: Lost Art that strengthens anyone.*
Caelus flinched. Maybe because the information he wanted was vague, he entered the World of Information once again. And soon enough, he felt the familiar pain assaulting his head. He didn't prepare in advance and knew he was being careless.
Was this his unconscious thought that wanted him to at least feel pain because of his grief?
He didn't know.
Some strange idea came up to Caelus. He was already inside the World of Information, so he decided to try something new. He casted his Qi and started gathering more Energy to his head!
It was a reverse procedure of what he did before. Use skill then gather Energy instead of gathering Energy then use skill.
He was not sure if it was possible. But because of carelessness and ending up entering the World of Information without Qi, he decided to try if it was possible. And soon, a relief slowly came to him.
It was effective!
It wasn't as effective as gathering Qi before entering the world of information, but still, it somehow alleviated the pain he was feeling just now.
*Hmm… maybe I can mix the two later? Use Qi before I enter and gather Qi again after entering?* With the new prospect of experiment, Caelus became excited. But he immediately pushed that back for later.
Right now, what he needed to find out was about the Lost Art that can Strengthen anyone.
He felt that he couldn't always rely on God Points to raise his stats. If he would do that, then it would take years and years or maybe decades or centuries to reach the highest rank one could possibly attain.
*Of course, I'm being pessimistic, but If that happens, it might be too late.*
Maybe he had grown paranoid seeing an almost apocalyptic view of the world in his dream or maybe his instincts were kicking in.
But he wanted to grow strong with little time. And he didn't want another one he cared to just die in front of him. He wanted power to protect those he cherished.
Was it wrong to wish for some cheat skill? He didn't think so.
If it was possible for the protagonist, why isn't it possible for him? He just wanted to grow stronger.
