As I had now split all the trainees up that would be put in a rotating shift in all the departments to know which positions will be best suited. We have managed to take the first two hundred new employees that will be spread out over a seven day roster that everyone gets a two day off every week. The teams have been split into twenty people per five day shift, and depending there are so many that don't last the full trial and quit the ones that find something they like, it grows and it helps them prosper in college and makes us unique amongst working students.
Walking around on my side of the house, I stared out at my view. The one my father built for me and my future descendants, it was he who said that I would prosper better under his roof and I realized now that he was right. My future demanded my full attention but I was blinded by love that made it impossible to not think back to a year from now. I gazed at the expanse of land that was mine to do with as I pleased and let me host my mini parties ever since I was old enough to drink and party under my father's roof that also gave all my cousins the same opportunity as well and while we had grandfather here it was always just us. There were too many of us to actually invite others and due to all the volatile energy that was puberty was pushing out, grandfather refused others interference within the family and we all abided by the rule.
Our family was notorious in all the elite schools, we would make it in too, especially at such a prominent high scores because we were all pitted against each other that made us all famous for the prominent rumour that the Patriarch of our family had trained all his grandchildren to persist precision and he was very proud of all our achievements. We all stood out in the entire country for all the years we attended our ivy league schools. When each of us graduated top of our classes we were spoken about for years to come, even now that the youngest of all of us are still attending. We have never threw our wealth at people as we were all to busy beating each other since we all had to report to our grandfather more then anyone and that was a feat in its own. When we tried pushing back or thinking it was too much, they beat the shit out of us. The only time we really got put in line, it would be the time we all get out asses handed out because our mini feud was raw and for some reason COMPETITIVE. The streak in us all was real and it was fierce at that time, made us all study, while working in the hotels around the country depending where you made it in too. Those years were so special that we all learnt that family was number one and we all became even closer that we all stopped fighting, bickering and we started finally getting along. Drinking together, laughing, trying. new alcohol, trying different foods from different countries once a month. The cheapest thing about it is that we all put our money together and learnt how to feed us all on a budget and fit alcohol in there too.
This was always the fun part, to introduce the supervisors of each team to the candidates and explain the rules that over the next three months each trainee in this intake will be introduced at one point through this trial and see where you felt best suited. This also gives you a try of something new to you as the skills is what would enable you to grab any opportunity out there by the horns. Training someone new in this job is what helps develop an unlocked jewel you never knew you had. The work speaks for itself, it helped a lot of them build there own empires with all the knowledge that gained from us. To expand our empire was always a possibility, and if the investment lasted the full contract that it could become its own entity, which some branches had done that in the past but there were ones that couldn't pay the loan back and were then sold on to recoup what it sold for.
I have not heard anything from Layton who seemed to disappear and as I slowly rebuilt my talent that I had not let manifest into what would have been amazing today that I can't believe my family abided by my request to let me build the next generation what a slap to there faces but now I have a burning passion that has been denied for too long. That over the month with grandfather I saw what he always spoke about us being gifted in certain traits that come easily to us that's why we're so great academically cause he built us too the highest degree we would reach to ensure his legacy lives for many generations.
I never realized how much I enjoyed this sort of thing and when I had six months worth of projects to sign off on, I had re-did them all and redrafted them then re did the brand of them to update them and make them more attractive to young promising students who will one day shape the future. I will stay in Auckland for a month to push the campaigns before I head back to Wellington to stay at Stephanie while she has a month long vacay while I attend to her department in the mean time as we deal.with the new intakes that she has sorted them all in to groups that are willing to be flexible and all of them have classes in between shifts so that it works out perfectly.
Getting ready to head to the first shift of the trial and quietly wander around without too much notice. I entered the kitchen where my father and youngest brother were when they both looked up as I entered. "Morning baby, Your up early ?," he questioned as he placed his newspaper down, "Today is the first shift for the newbies," I spoke with excitement in my voice, as I made my way to the coffee mugs. "Today is my first day in the office daddy," I spoke as I prepared me a travel mug and a flask as I stared over at Tori who was lounging around. "That's awesome my baby you go show them why you sit par with your brothers in this family," he spoke as he bent down to kiss me on the head, " I will," I smiled as I made my to the fridge to pull out my made and packed lunch. It had been so long since I had been taken care of properly since I left home. My entire family doted on us girls because there are only ten girls all up, in a family of forty boys.
The drive to the office had made me a little nervous, as I had barely been to the offices an many years and I was just learning names at this point more than titles. "This has been in the works for the past few months and now it was finally happening and it's almost like I'm getting a head of myself," I spoke as I slid my eyes to my brother who was tall and proud. The youngest of the pack had a silent and brooding attitude but was just as bright as the rest of us. We were all great, with unique talents in different areas that made us shine and when you stood us next to one another we all look similar. Entering the lobby we headed straight to our elevator desonated to high ups that do not wish to ride in a crowded elevator.
Reaching the floor, we were greeted with Sebastian standing at reception, obviously sticking out like a sore thumb. As I stepped towards him with a raised eyebrow, "Loitering in the reception now big brother?," I questioned as I smiled at his reaction, " What took you both so long, I've been waiting for twenty minutes?," he questioned back without answering my one first. "We had breakfast with daddy," I answered smoothly as we followed Sebastian down to his wing of the building, where we would all share that entire space. We had an open spaced area where we would all be comfortable with our own kitchen and bathroom as well so that we wouldn't bump into our staff accidently only when coming and going do they see us around if we have t called a meeting.
As I entire my office that I started to set up and boot my computer up before getting down our family toolbox meeting that we conduct everyday whether one is in the office or over the phone. It has been a ritual since we started this business and I was always to away with Layton to pay much attention to anything around me but as long as I upheld my end of the bargain I was okay in my world and now I obviously lacked a lot of compassion towards my own family as I tried to build me one. As I was satisfied with my office I made my over to the common area with the large screen to getting ready for our morning. Sebastian opened our meeting with a prayer to start our day off on a positive not.
"Today's agenda that was pushed through was the first round of casuals that would be arriving in three shifts today of at least a hundred per group. The first ones start at seven am for the morning rush of all the check outs, room maintenances and the roll over of all rooms. The second team will start at one pm as the lunch hour rush will be dying down and they will have enough people for dinner set up and that's when the last crew will come in at six pm to do the dinner service rush and clean up. All shifts are ten hours long and this will be a first month run of these casuals," Sebastian spoke as we all jotted down what we would expect the day to be like. " Every Monday the group will rotate to night, night shift to morning shift and morning shift to evening shift so that all of them run through each department and start from there," max my second eldest brother spoke as he handed out all print outs to us in the toolbox. I appreciate my stuff on paper so I could visualize my department and schedule out each team of casuals and see where they each fit perfectly where we could improve their skills over time and one month will definitely show who has the skills and determination.
As the first shift had arrived on time and ready to work. Within the first hour, they were inducted into the company which every employee is required to do. The level of skills alot of these intakes had, amazed me and the determination to learn. Over the first grueling week, we were full on and certain teams were put through the wringer to see if you can handle the pace. The first week we lost about thirty people who couldnt handoe the pace set for every employee to keep up with the chain. The equipment we provide is to ensure the safety of the employee that is inducted into our business and to ensure their safety and the safety of everyone is upheld at the most foremost in place.
The running off every floor ran differently our first two weeks as all of the intakes were still grasping the role. The full timers had more hands to help and that's what made the train work smoothly by mid week three and by four everyone who made their preferences were noted. Due to unknown reasons some roles maybe done by multiple people. The standard line of three people with two experienced and one trainer that is their to assist the ladies.
Working through all the candidates that are here on scholarship that are also made aware of funding while working in the hotel until graduation is paid off. The casual contract is to protect them in case of an emergency where they need time off. The hotel policy is that all the working students in the hotel are to focus on their studies at all times. The higher the grade the better recommendations that help you on the future. We are always looking for potentials that want to try something different and due to our grueling jobs it takes quite a lot of people before some take to roles that never need to be replaced but also help source more engineers in the area to make it more profitable in the long run.
The students are also learning how to pay tax as each employee is taught exactly how to care for their finances and to keep track of their payslip for future disputes if ever. The next few weeks will be ensuring all their skills are honed and perfected over a certain amount of different roles that will be their training for the next three months once they have completed the first four weeks learning rotation shifts. The shifts are all broken down to one group for the trial process, that is then offered a contract at the end of the ninety days trial period whether you find something that sticks and then enhance those skills to a professional standard that will be recognized world wide as a National Standard Qualification.
This is what helped our family for generations was to praise our young independent workers that are paving through life with one thing in mind and that is to graduate at the top of their class if possible. We also have all living quarters under security cameras that operate twenty four seven to ensure that everyone is safe at all times. Due to our security systems we have the entire hotel and surround student blocks all have cameras. Every security detail has a tracker in the shoes, torches, belt and one on every staff uniform that is also for their own safety. Then all common areas, dining areas, entrance, lobby, elevator and every floor has several cameras throughout every corner and Blindspot. Due to the high rate of assault within the campus it's self none of our workers or students that we employed are not to live in the dormitory due to the high number of people and the unsafe promixity most students find themselves in.
The scholarships are also placed in our monitored living quarters that help with their study groups that the R.A set up every afternoon to help with homework or to pass grades that they don't understand and that has been something that has improved over the years and majority of all our worker students all pass with the highest markings due to the study groups. They are also the most studious of the entire campus and this has been the most amazing experience in the past twenty years is to witness the students get high earned positions in high end companies and all because they study, work as hard as they play.
