Chapter 17 - FLIGHT TO KISANGANI

Bosco and Monica were awestruck by the ambiance. This was their first time inside a private jet, and it surpassed their wildest dreams. They marveled at the attention to detail, the fine leather seats, and the tasteful accents that adorned the cabin. Agnes, accustomed to the luxury, couldn't help but smile at their expressions.

Bosco could not contain his excitement of being on such a luxurious plane with his girlfriend. He started singing in a loud voice. "I feel good ta la ta, so good ta ta…"

The excitement was contagious, Agnes also started to sing in her sweet voice. "So, good ta ta, I GAAATTT YYYOOOUUUUU!"

Agnes went ahead to embrace her boyfriend's back; he was still looking at the tasteful and rich interior before him."

"You like it?" She asked him while still embracing him.

"Oh Agnes, I don't like it… I love it." He truthfully told her what he felt. Agnes was pleased to hear his answer.

"I am glad to hear that. I partly participated in designing the interior when Dad ordered this plane." She told him in a tone laced with pride.

"My, my… Agnes, you are full of surprises my love." He turned around to hug her.

"Let me show you guys the other advanced features." She went ahead to show them all the captivating and useful gizmos in the plane apart from the pilot's cabin. Bosco and Monica could see that she was happy and proud to show all these things to them. It was a testament to her deep knowledge and love for the plane.

Agnes Nzanzu was a woman who had been born and raised in a life of sophistication and privilege, that she had almost taken for granted. Today was a special day for her because she got to share a part of her extraordinary life with her boyfriend and his friend Monica. It made her happy to know that he appreciated the finer things in her life.  Before this day, she had not introduced him to aspects of her life relating to her family or their wealth because she was not sure of his reaction. In the beginning, when they fell in love, she entertained some doubts about his intentions for loving her. But she had come to learn and appreciate, that he loved her for what she was as a woman, and not for what her family's wealth like most men who sought after her.

After some time spent moving around admiring the interior of the plane, they settled into their seats as the plane attendants offered them glasses of fine red wine with a few eatables.

To capture these sweet moments, they asked one of the plane attendants to take their pictures and videos. She took quality pictures and videos that highlighted the beautiful interior and the jolly mood they were in. When Monica saw these sweet pictures and videos, they were too good for her to enjoy alone. Straight away, she posted them on her social media pages and the class's group.

This attracted a lot of attention and envy from her classmates. Many girls in the class felt like strangling themselves when they discovered that the Bosco they despised, and underlooked had a girlfriend who was several times better than them in beauty and wealth. While they used trains to travel to the Hospitals where they had been posted, this duo was flying to Mutukula. Envy, jealousy, and admiration consumed many of their classmates who viewed her posts.

As for Bosco who had become the main topic of discussion. His attention was elsewhere, he was taken up by his beautiful girlfriend and the experience of flying on a private jet.

With their glasses being refilled consistently by the plane attendants, they drank and toasted the beautiful moment they were living in. Thoughts of the impending apocalypse were driven to the back of their minds as they lived their lives to the fullest. Soon, the Captain and his co-pilot started the engines and the Falcon X50 gracefully taxied down the runway before takeoff. Dodoma city slowly faded into the distance, and they were presented with a breathtaking view of the green landscape below, and the clouds as they soared through the sky.

To Bosco, this was more than a dream come true. Happiness, love, gratitude and a sense of euphoria ruled over his mind and body as he saw what was going on. He was with the love of his life, happily flying to visit her family. This was the best moment of his adult life.

Two hours later, and in the early afternoon, they touched down on a private airstrip in Kisangani city. Kisangani city was located in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The pilot and co-pilot executed a flawless landing.

When they left the plane, there was a company eagerly waiting for them

Waiting for them on the tarmac were two posh GMC SUVs, besides them were the family butler, a few guards, and the drivers.

They warmly welcomed them to Kisangani before directing them into the waiting SUVs, it was not long before they whisked them away to their destination—the Nzanzu family home.

The journey to Nzanzu's family home took them close to twenty minutes. They left the highway and entered a countryside-tarmacked two-lane road meandering over valleys, and rivers. It came to stop at the foot of forested hill with a large metallic gate blocking the way. Behind was their destination.
