The first sight that greeted Roxanne was the ray of sunlight coming through the opened floor to ceiling window.she raised her hand to shield her eyes from the blinding sunlight trying to remember where she was, she saw Mike looking at her with curiosity etched in his twinkling eyes. Then everything that happened the previous day came rushing in, how she and Mike met Kelly in her office, told her their situation, and how she promised to help her.
Mike stared at her sister intently and the different emotion that she expressed through her eyes, while she thought deeply."Good morning, sister xanne"he said bringing her out of her thought.
"Good morning, my cute little brother, how was your night?"she replied startled.
"fine, why do I feel you are not fine" he said sounding like the older one. One thing with Mike, sometimes how he talks and behave makes him look older than his age. He has the instinct to protect his sister.
"I'm fine, why will you say so" She said avoiding Mike's gaze.
"Why? you have been spacing out" Mike said rolling his eyes, while getting down from the bed.
"!!!!!!!" Roxanne was speechless.
She was still spacing, when she heard Mike calling out to her. When she snapped out of her daze, she saw Mike standing in front of her all ready for the day. "Mike am sorry give me ten minutes to freshen up." She said rushing toward the bathroom.
When they were done with their breakfast right on time , Kelly's phone rang breaking the silence xanne gesture for her to pick her call. she nodded in understanding while standing up.
"Let me take this call" she said walking towards her room.
When she got to her her room she picked up the call"Good morning, James"she greeted.
"Good morning"
"I hope it's good news"she said nervously, while bitten into her nail.
"Good news indeed, one of my clients have agreed to pay 40 million dollar for a night with your friend, mainly because she is a vigin"
"Oh, that's is good to hear, Roxanne will be very happy to hear this. Thank you very much James this means a lot to me.
"You know I got your back. A car will come and pick her up, remember to prepare her tomorrow by 7pm in the evening"he said ready to hang up up when Kelly whispered.
"I hope it's not an old man"
"Of course not"he said before hanging up.
When she got back to the living room she found Roxanne sitting on the couch in the lounge in deep thought."Where is Mike"she asked in a hushed voice. Roxanne gestured toward their room and kelly nodded in response.
"I have a good new, James called, he said one of his client agreed to pay 40 million dollar for a night" she said happy for her friend.
"40 million, but that is too good to be true she said "she mumbled.
"I also thought so but, he said it's because you are virgin"she said dismissing the thought.
"Yes!, I almost forgot." "why do I feel like my life is about to change"she mumbled in a daze.
"Xanne, what's wrong you have been acting strange lately are you sure you want to do this, if not, I can always find a way to help you arrange the money, even if it means asking my dad for the money.
"No! I can do this. I know how you and your father's relationship is. I have bothered you a lot lately, I don't want to keep on bothering you so when am I to leave."she asked standing up.
"Tomorrow evening by 7pm"
Roxanne was about to walk toward their room when she heard Kelly. "Xanne hold on a little after tomorrow you will pay of your father's depth, you can always use the remaining money to start over in another city with Mike where." she said in a comforting tone. Roxanne nodded and left.
The next day came faster than usual as it was already half past six in the evening, inside Kelly room, she looked into the mirror to see the beautiful Roxanne all dressed up and ready for the long night ahead. She gave her a reassuring smile, when they saw the limousine that drove into the gate, from the window of the room."Xanne if you want the whole money, please than man. I sent him your picture and he is pleased with your beauty."
"Shall we she said?" she said pointing at the door. Roxanne nodded determined having no other choice, but to go through with the plan, she can not back out now, that she is one step away from getting the money. She went into her room to check on Mike to make sure he is asleep before going down stairs.
