My first steps into Niðavellir were like spelunking into a cave after falling from a rainbow. Literally.
"Wow…" I whistled. "Delphine wasn't kidding when she said Niðavellir was a sight to see."
I stood at the edge of a wide stone bridge that stretched over a great chasm to reach a canyon wall nearly as tall as the Empire State Building in New York. Although this was probably an illusion brought about by my eyes adjusting to the darkness.
"Did we have to land this far away though?" I asked.
Beside me, Caelestis answered, "The dwarves don't like it when guests arrive too close to their city gates."
I glanced sideways at my companion.
