"Are you going?" Liara asked.
I nodded.
"Want to come with me?" I asked.
Honestly, it was enough that she showed me a conflicted look. I didn't mind that she shook her head afterward.
"I feel like I'm about to make a breakthrough," she admitted.
In my head, I recalled watching Liara dancing in the middle of a hurricane, and I thought, 'You've made a breakthrough already.'
I also knew that it was okay to be greedy, especially for Liara, who, before my arrival at the Academy, had been suffering from a funk that had forced her out of the novice rankings. Honestly, if I was her, and I'd finally found a way forward, I probably would have been greedier.
"Just don't overdo it," I said as I reached out for her hand.
She didn't stop me from grabbing it. Instead, my betrothed offered me a whimsical smile.
"Says the guy who passed out while achieving enlightenment," she countered.
