A second later, I heard the chiming of a notification, which was weird because I didn't bring my status bar to Asgard.
'Ping!'
There it was again. Weird.
Of course, I was so mesmerized by the emerald serpent wrapped around my finger that I didn't realize right away that Odin was no longer beside me.
'Ping!'
More importantly, it wasn't so dark anymore.
'Ping!'
"Huh?"
I blinked—and then the darkroom I'd just been in was gone like it had been washed away from my vision by the return of color, and I was once again seated on my stone mat in a dark corner of the Hall of Enlightenment.
"There and back again," I whispered.
The thing was, I was certain that I didn't daydream any of it. The shiny emerald ring on my finger gave that away.
Behind me, I heard, "What did you do this time, kiddo?"
I glanced over my shoulder.
