"You truly deserve the name you've taken, Will Wisdom," said the wisest of the Aesir.
Yep, the Norse god of wisdom and knowledge himself was complimenting me. Cue the cheers and applause of the massive crowd my brain had just conjured.
"So, tell me, what are you willing to give up to drink from Mímisbrunnr?" Mimir asked.
My brow creased for this was not an easy question to answer.
It was no secret that I was a greedy kid who wanted as much as I could take, and the thought of giving something up, well, that gave me the heebie-jeebies. Because no matter how small the offering, I knew I would regret it.
"Um, does this thing take sceattas?" I wondered aloud. "Maybe credit?"
The giant head chuckled. It was laughter that reverberated all around me but didn't sound sinister like such laughter normally would have when coming from a head that was as large as a Jötunn's.
