Yeah, I couldn't finish that question. It felt like prying into Liara's backstory without her being here to tell me it was okay. It kind of made me feel like a creeper. Too bad for Liara, Lorias didn't seem to mind spilling the beans.
"Cancer…" he answered in a flat tone.
Gods, I hated that word. Cancer was the one sickness that not even the best clerics or most expensive healing potions in the realmsverse could cure. Restoring a limb or transplanting a dragon's heart into a non-dragon being were possible, but curing cancer, vargr, that was like a mortal becoming a god without marrying one—it was impossible.
