"Wait, we've got business—"
Liara's icy glare caused the naiad to visibly shrivel up. She backed away quickly. Her fellow red cloaks followed her just as quickly.
I sighed. 'That de-escalated fairly quickly.'
Liara moved toward the open doorway without waiting for me. So, with an apologetic glance at Dess and the gang, I followed the she-elf into the brick-lined corridor beyond those chamber doors.
"Where are we going?"
I notice that we'd taken a left down another low-lit hallway I hadn't gone through yet.
"You're better off waiting at the ranker's waiting area," Liara answered. "Otherwise, that kind of situation might happen again."
"That kind of situation…" I repeated. "You've heard something, haven't you?"
Liara stopped walking.
I could sense her hesitating.
