Chapter 123 - Suspicion

Jacob Anderson looked at the trembling driver and gave him a reassuring pat. "Don't be afraid. You were summoned here because the General wants to ask you a few questions."

Tyler Davis lifted his gaze, his eagle-like eyes fixed on the driver. "Where did you pick up that girl?"

The driver naturally knew he was being asked about Amelia, as he had been asked too many times these past few days. "It was at the entrance of Saint Hua University," the driver replied honestly. Faced with Tyler Davis' gaze, it took courage to lie.

"Tell me in detail about what happened that day," Tyler Davis continued.

The driver looked at Jacob Anderson, then at Tyler Davis, and quickly lowered his gaze. "That day, I met this little girl at the entrance of Saint Hua University. I don't know what happened to her, but she was so anxious that her eyes were red. She said she wanted to go to Sunset Boulevard Road in the east of the city and urged me to hurry all the way."

Tyler Davis listened carefully, as if he could see how helpless and flustered Amelia was.

"After the little girl arrived at Sunset Boulevard Road, she gave me several hundred yuan, then turned around and ran away. But I thought it wasn't right to take so much money from someone else, so I waited at the intersection for a while. She didn't come back, so I felt guilty and got off the car to take a look. Sunset Boulevard Road was in chaos, with a lot of blood everywhere. The little girl was crying on the side of the road, but no one paid any attention to her. She looked pitiful."

Tyler Davis clenched his fists slightly.

"I told her not to cry and asked where she wanted to go. She got in the car with me and we went to Grace Manor, which is a huge villa. After a while, she ran out again, stumbling and falling. Then we went to Ivan Hospital, and I never had a chance to return the money to her. I waited for a long time, but she never came out. In the end, I had no choice but to go back."

Tyler Davis listened silently, his ferocity gradually rising. The driver wiped the sweat from his forehead and continued, "Officer, everything I said is true...I didn't mean to take advantage of her. Please don't put me in jail. My daughter is seriously ill and needs me!"

Tyler Davis waved his hand, and someone immediately came forward to take the driver away.

"Get me all the surveillance footage from the hospital at that time," Tyler Davis ordered. "And arrange for the best hospital and doctors for this driver's daughter."

"Yes, General. I will arrange it immediately."

The driver had no idea that his moment of kindness and refusal to take advantage would bring him so many benefits in the future.

And the same taxi driver who abandoned Amelia and ran away after being surrounded by a mob when he was driving her back to school was not as lucky this time. Waiting for him will be a more and more difficult life.

Good people will always be rewarded!

Soon, Jacob Anderson obtained the hospital surveillance video and showed it to Tyler Davis.

Tyler Davis watched Amelia rush into the hospital like a headless fly, stumbling and falling, then getting up again, her proud face now filled with fear and her once cold eyes now moist with tears.

Tyler Davis felt his breathing becoming difficult, and his heart felt as if it had been stabbed. It hurt even more than the gunshot wound he had narrowly escaped before.

Fortunately, there was no surveillance outside Tyler Davis's operating room and intensive care unit, or he would have seen Amelia squatting at the door all night, even climbing to the window to look at him. He was afraid he would lose control of his emotions right then and there.

Tyler Davis did not see what happened next, but he could guess some of it. His Amelia was so haggard and dressed in a hospital gown, even though she was so obsessed with cleanliness.

Jacob Anderson had already seen the surveillance footage, but objectively speaking, he still suspected Amelia. It was a matter of the safety of a general, how could he let his emotions get in the way?

Jacob Anderson couldn't help but speak up again. "Miss Amelia, are you really okay? That day, apart from the killer, there weren't many people who knew we were going to Sunset Boulevard Road."

"Jacob Anderson, how long have you been with me?" Tyler Davis looked up and said.

"Four years!"

"Then you should know, you shouldn't say things like that."

Tyler Davis's tone was indifferent but beyond doubt. Even if Amelia really wanted to kill him, he was afraid he would still give in.

He even regretted his carelessness and getting injured, making Amelia so anxious.

How did his Amelia manage to find him in such a panic? It was as if she had been waiting for him all her life, but when she found him, she felt sorry and thought it would be better for him to find her in the future.

Jacob Anderson wanted to say something else, but seeing Tyler Davis's gaze, he ultimately remained silent.

At this time, Amelia held a thermos in her hand and heard some conversation in the room. She stood at the door of the ward, neither going in nor going out, feeling awkward.

After thinking about it, she still went in, nodded to Jacob Anderson, and walked to Tyler Davis's side. "Tyler Davis, have some porridge first."

As she spoke, she opened the thermos and scooped a bowl with a small bowl.

Seeing Jacob Anderson still standing awkwardly in place, she sighed and said, "I know you have doubts about me after this incident, and I can't explain it clearly. But no matter what, I won't do anything that is not good for Tyler Davis."

If it were an outsider, Amelia wouldn't care about his opinion, but Jacob Anderson was different. He was Tyler Davis's most loyal subordinate, the kind of person who would give his life for Tyler Davis at any time. She didn't want him to misunderstand her.

Jacob Anderson silently looked at Amelia, then solemnly bowed before leaving. Despite the warning look from Tyler Davis, he managed to choke out a sentence.

"Hope Miss Amelia keeps her promise."

Believing her, Amelia had to consider it, given her past full of dark history.

Amelia didn't know if Jacob Anderson believed her, but she knew Tyler Davis definitely did.

"You should have some porridge first." Amelia helped Tyler Davis sit up, wiped his hands with a towel, and handed him the porridge with a gentle look.

Tyler Davis picked up the bowl and spoon, paused for a moment, and his brow unconsciously furrowed!

It was a very slight expression, but enough for Amelia to notice. She hurriedly took the bowl and spoon from him.

The soft and tender white fish porridge was gently blown by Amelia before being carefully fed to Tyler Davis's mouth. In a trance, it seemed like she had never taken care of him like this before.

She seemed to recall something forgotten in the years gone by. When she first arrived at Grace Manor at thirteen, her stomach was already damaged by thirteen years of confinement, and she didn't want to eat. Tyler Davis was so careful, feeding her spoonful by spoonful.

What happened to her in her past life? How could she have forgotten all of Tyler Davis's kindness to her?

Tyler Davis's mind was still immersed in the surveillance footage he had seen earlier, watching Amelia stumble and fall, not knowing if she was injured.

Tyler Davis had never liked fish porridge, but he was being fed by Amelia, so he forced himself to put on a cold face and drink it like a good boy.

After finishing the porridge, Tyler Davis grabbed Amelia's hand and pulled up her sleeve. Amelia didn't understand what was going on but didn't dare to struggle, afraid of touching Tyler Davis's wound.

By the time she remembered the scratches on her arm and wanted to cover them up, it was already too late.
